This book covers all the major topics needed to get started in understanding German grammar. Of course there are many other books that fit this description. Where this book really succeeds is by limiting grammatical terms and focusing on the concepts that most beginners will encounter while deemphasizing the more rare situations. Exercises are included for each topic. While not the most comprehensive treatment, this should serve any learner through at least B-2 needs. Highly recommended.

As someone who wants to expand their language skills, I reached out for this textbook to make a good start. It is very accessible, and I like how it is broken down into chunks that can be done daily and gives you work to practice. The rules are explained very well to deal with the particulars of German. And it includes a set of language audio files, so definitely a great deal!

I bought this product to supplement the app I was using to learn German for a trip. It is laid out simply, with good explanations. The actual voice files of native speakers makes it that much better. I feel more confident now.

This book is the real deal. I bought for its ease to read it on my tablet and carry it wherever I go and it molding to where it's in rather than creasing a hard cover. Right out the box I knew this book was the best. It's loaded with pages that are loaded with words, and it just excites me knowing I'll be increasing my vocabulary and fluency with the more professional words, and even everyday German words I used to use as a child.The structure of this books leaves so much room for interpretation you might be best served using this book purely as reference for translating German words into English and vice versa; However, if you are brave I hope you can take the time to tackle this monstrous and wonderful exploration of German book into the human condition.It just excites me knowing I'll be increasing my vocabulary and fluency with the more professional words, and even everyday German words I used to use as a child. I am German living in the US and I am trying to teach my kids German grammar and writing skills. They are working their way through the exercises and grammar lessons in this book and there are many mistakes in this book, mostly wrong articles or cases. That said the book overall seems to provide a good start into German grammar rules etc., but the publisher should have had this proof read better.

I really needed something to help me understand my German class I am taking since I all have for the class is an online book. I wasn’t comprehending much, as my college book dove straight into full on German with very little English translations. Its. 101 class so I thought why the heck is this so hard! Well, I found this book and I have got to say I highly recommend getting this book if you’re a college student like me struggling with German! I know some of the other reviews say there are some errors with this book but in my opinion taking both my college book, and this book, has helped me understand things A LOT better!!! Give it consideration, especially if you’re in a situation like me. Also, the audio that goes with the reading has worked amazingly for me. Thanks!

Finally have my own copy on German Grammar. This book has lovely structure kind of like a dictionary, where there are columns of same sentences in German versus in English, which makes it easier to find similarities between both languages and it helps to memorize it. This is great for beginner level such as mine.

I think this was a great book for me to begin learning German for the first time. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to learn. I wanted to learn because many movies I enjoy have a lot of German dialect and it would be great to understand without subtitles. The audio was the best because it helped understand the lessons better.
