None of my business why you want to return your footrest, but if you do any flying, this is a MUST HAVE for great comfort, believe me!

Q: How would I attach it under my desk?

This item is not really designed for under a desk. If you want leg comfort under a desk, consider an ottoman of sorts.

Q: How much weight can it hold?

I wouldn't be concerned with the amount of weight since you won't be standing in it with your full weight. I believe the stability is directly commensurate with the strength of your drop down tray in front of your seat over which the footrest is draped. I cannot tell you how wonderful this product is! We all know how cramped plane seats are and this device at least holds your legs up and gives a great deal of comfort. I will NEVER fly without it!!
