Found by the Lake Monster: A Love Bathhouse Monster Romance (Monstrous Matches)

Listen. We all know why we're here, to read a fantastically written smutty story about a lake monster. (And I am not ashamed!)Amy is an accountant, an actual accountant , and not the exciting kind where you say it with a wink and a half smile. A typical night would include reading a saucy monster tale, accompanied by one of her toys (purchases inspired by said monster romance, with appearances to match)So when one of her clients is need of civilians to look for tracks and proof of a lake monster, she jumps at the chance.Adrian is also a regular accountant, who likes to keep to himself in the woods. Oh and I did mention he is also a water sprite? (Otherwise known as a Nix or even a lake monster.) Drivin by his biological clock he has contacted a renowned matchmaker (iykyk) to help with what could be his final heat, and final chance at producing offspring. Adrian just hopes his date didn't get lost in the woods, maybe he should go look for her....Amy is more then okay with Adrian thinking that she is his witch date, but will he be when he finds out?What follows can only be described as spicy, toe curling, and a night to remember. (Can someone open a window, it's getting hot in here!) I never thought that I would find oviposition sexy, but I highly attribute that to Lark's writing.Favorite Moments: A leading lady who knows what she wants, all the toys, he comes prelubedLeast Favorite: It's a novella so I really can't complain about it being too short, but I want more of this couple already! (Also Seamus the neighbor was very intriguing, and would love him to get his own story)That being said, there is something to be said for Lillian Lark's ability to weave world building and story into a 104 page monster romance novella. (There are high fantasy authors I wish I could send this book to, and be like, this is how you do it guys!)I always feel safe reading her books because she is one of the few romance authors I see consistently put content warnings in her books. I never have to worry about tentatively turning the pages, or holding my breath waiting for an assault scene that some authors seem to take glee in sneaking into their story.As with all of her books, I highly recommend this one as well! If you are looking for a sweet and spicy short story to brighten your day, this is the one for you.

I have really enjoyed reading Lillian larks books. This one is great! It’s super Insta love, but it’s such a sweet romance that you get captured in that Insta romance easily.This definitely has monster “parts” and a breeding k*nk.There’s not a huge amount of story or background Only a book on a weekend of love between the two main characters.It was fun, sweet, sexy monster story that I recommend!

Well add ovipositoring and primal play to the list of kinks I didn’t know I had. But she delivers in a beautiful primal way in this book it is literally one you can’t put down

This book was fairly short, but it flowed pretty well considering. I really enjoyed the characters and the spice was 👌 🌶🌶🌶🌶/5 monster spice. Would definitely recommend for a quick read!

I do love Lillian’s books! She has a knack for writing sweet, cozy, and spicy romances!Amy is an accountant for a monster-hunting show that has decided to go into the woods searching for a lake monster they’ve been told lives out there. She’s not the outdoorsy type, and especially not at night. Amy decided that it was better to get out and do something than sit at home another night. Adrian is about to enter his heat and, not wanting to spend it alone, reaches out to everyone’s favorite matchmaker in hopes of finding someone to help him ease the effects of the heat. He’s readying his home for the date when a friend lets him know a girl is wandering around in their territory. Thinking it's his date, he ventures out to help her.I always enjoy characters that are kind of introverted and absolute homebodies *waves* which fits our girl to a tee. Amy lets her curiosity get the best of her because she’s a big fan of monster romances, and she has little to no hesitation about having sex with him. She gets mildly freaked out at the mention of taking his eggs, but she gets over it fast.Adrian is adorable, and I don’t want to spoil his character by giving too much information about him. He does have a good bit in common with Amy, which only adds to their cuteness. I enjoyed that he was concerned about his biological clock but was still willing to have the opportunity pass him by to get to be with Amy.This was my first book to have oviposition (laying of eggs), and I’m not mad about it. It has increased my curiosity about specific toys that can do similar, which is something I don’t think I ever thought I’d say. There’s also a little chase scene which I will always enjoy no matter how small. Lillian has a way of writing spicy scenes that are not just sweet but deliver on the spice.

It’s hard to believe that I only started reading Lillian Lark last year, and in that time have managed to read her backlist and early await all her upcoming releases. She does some fascinating things in the paranormal romance genre (re: monster romances) and while they always feature some out-there ideas, they also have great characters and ideas that just make them so damn fun.Amy gets lost in the wood while participating in a monster hunt – only to run into an actual lake monster, Adrian, who’s going into heat and is expecting an arranged date to arrive any minute. As the two get to know – and like – each other it becomes harder and harder for Amy to reveal the truth.So, at the outset I have to say that the deception part of the plot was not my favourite and probably went on too long for my own personal tastes (and Adrian’s reaction was completely deserved), but otherwise, this was really a delight. It’s a novella, which makes it easily digestible and a perfect option if you’re looking to read something completely different to your normal routine. Amy and Adrian’s relationship, once they move to the trusting stage, is great and they have a lot in common, including both being accountants – which made me laugh when I first read it, because it was just so ordinary and so perfect for both of them.Also, Adrian was a complete cinnamon roll of a hero and I adored him.Lillian Lark continues to entertain with her stories and I’ll be eagerly awaiting her next one.

A delicious quick fix of some monster romance, not much of a plot but I enjoyed it

I have been waiting to read it from the moment she gave us a tease of it. The writing style is amazing and just an overall good read. It is safe for people who just want a good read with no surprise angst. The plot is simple and mainly smut but who doesn’t love that. Definitely recommend 😉
