Worth every dime, make sure you have the Ryobi P601 router. The old one I needed to rig a jig, took allot of time. Now just set the distance and go.

I was a little concerned from the reviews that stated they didn't receive all the pieces necessary. But being a complete newbie, armed with a brand new Ryobi router...I ordered anyway. This was delivered on time and with all the pieces as advertised.Function: After completely trashing a couple of pieces of test wood, I quickly realized that my newbie hands needed some type of guard to help. I ordered this and am completely surprised at how easy it was to install and use it to create the beautiful edges that I pictured making. Happy and confident with using the Ryobi router. Now, if I can only tap into some internal artistic, creative juices...I'll be really happy. All in all, I highly recommend this for those that are looking for a guard to help not destroy your wood project.

Perfect fit with the Ryobi router - works well and makes routing easier and more precise.I did just try to use it for 1 inch wood, ie 1x2s, 1x3s, etc, and depending on which tool bit you use, the wood is too small to use with this attachment connected. Just an FYI in case you plan on using it for that size wood.Really, really happy I found this - I built a deck this summer and used a Ryobi bit to carve the edges with the router and this made each piece come out more even than I could have ever done without.

It's what I wished was in the box when I bought the router! I needed to route a slot in some wood so I can install an LED strip light and this was the the edge guide that worked on my trim router. My edge guide was made out of metal, both for the guide edge and the rods that screw into my router. I did not need any additional hardware to attach this to the router...the router already had threaded holes for the rods on the guide. I've only used the guide a few times but from my work it seems durable and accurate enough for normal wood work. As they say, measure twice (or more) and cut once.

This guide is nice for what it is. The construction is quite nice compared to some other router guides, but the installation is a bit tedious if you're removing it and affixing it often. It's not terrible, though, and it fits well. One remark I will make is the ridges on the guide where it meets the edge of the board sometimes will catch on the wood and misalign before you start your pass, giving a poor finish. Just something to be cognizant of.
