Awesome, funny, emotional, beautiful
Polar opposites, Liam and Annie just work with each other and towards each other. It's beautiful to see Liam come out of his self-proclaimed shell of seriousness and responsibilities. And it's wonderful to see how grounded Annie becomes. The writing is hilarious. Really!Loved this one.

Delightful rom com
"So That Happened" by Katie Bailey is a delightful romantic comedy that will keep you entertained from start to finish. The story revolves around Annie and Liam, whose chance encounter at an airport sets the stage for a series of hilarious and awkward situations. The plot takes an unexpected turn when Annie and Liam, strangers turned seatmates, find themselves sharing a bed in a hotel due to a flight delay. Little do they know that their lives are about to become even more entangled when Annie discovers that Liam is her boss the next day.Bailey's writing effortlessly captures the essence of a grumpy sunshine theme, infusing the narrative with plenty of humor and heart. The interactions between Annie and Liam in the office provide ample comedic relief as they navigate the challenges of their newfound situation. The chemistry between the characters is palpable, making their journey from friends to lovers all the more enjoyable. The inclusion of Liam's family adds an extra layer of charm to the narrative. His brother Luke is a particularly amusing character, providing additional comedic moments throughout the book.Bailey sets the stage for a promising sequel in the Donovan series, hinting at the introduction of Liam's sister in future installments. This leaves readers eagerly anticipating what lies ahead for the characters they've grown to love.

Good read
This was my first book from the author I definitely loved it. The writing was simple and up to the point. Thank god she didn't led on with the misunderstanding troupe. If you are looking for a romance book with a happy ending I would recommend to try this book.

Surprisingly funny
Couldnt imagine this book could be so funny with superb oneliners and quite emotional few pages towards the end. A bollywood style ending. Very soon some Bollywood producer will knock at the authers door for movie rights. Many sensual scenes but no vulgarity. Loved it in totality.

Leve, gostoso e engraçado
Me diverti na mesma proporção em que morri de fofura com esse casal! Vale a pena a leitura, principalmente para quem está passando por aquela chata ressaca literária.

A Sweet, Sexy (for a Closed-Door Romance!) Read
So That Happened, A stand-alone companion to The Roommate Situation and The Neighbor War (aka the Only in Atlanta series) features characters from those books in cameos (Luke appeared as a very minor character in The Neighbor War and is a much more substantial character here as Liam's older brother and fellow investor in SITL, much to their father's disappointment.Liam and Annie illustrate the saying that opposites attract, going from reluctant office sharers to platonic dinner sharers to secret- kisses-in-the-copy-room sharers. It began with an airport hotel mix-up that forced them to spend the night in a hotel bed. It was completely innocent, but Annie's ex discovers that they were assigned the same room and threatens to expose them as a boss taking advantage of his soon-to-be employee and a woman who's willing to bed the boss to advance her career. None of that is true--neither of them knew they'd be working together then--but Annie begins to think she's blocking Liam's chance to achieve his dreams and boards a bus to take her to the airport, to Boston, and then to the angel investor to beg him for mercy. Liam follows her after being lectured by Luke and their younger sister Lana Mae, the single mother of Liam's beloved niece Allegra ("Legs", a nickname Annie misunderstands and imagines to belong to one of his numerous girlfriends--a man as handsome as Liam must have a collection, right?--rather than a boy band obsessed eight-year-old who asks inappropriate questions about the lyrics in some N-sync songs and wants a T-shirt with a bare-chested Justin Bieber on it --and doesn't see either the irony or the precocious sexuality in her request).Annie at first appears to be a free spirit but is filled with self-doubt and criticizes her random utterances with laughable precision, only to cross another line between good taste and TMI immediately afterward. Liam, on the other hand, is introduced as someone with no sense of humor at all and strong disapproval for the crazy woman who arrived late, spilled her snacks on him, and then blurted a non sequitur and laughed heartily. It's got the seeds of a workplace debacle like The Office, with an oil-and-water conflict between Annie and Liam. Instead, Katie Bailey sends them on a romantic journey fueled by Mexican food, coffee, Brene Brown books, and seriously unprofessional texts sent during office hours by Annie's Boston best friend, Prisha. Justin, Annie's ex and no relation to Justin Bieber, furthers their cause by being his obnoxious self and reminding Annie how much better it is to be with a man who admires her skills rather than expecting her to quit her job and stay home with their kids.Having laughed through the first third of the book, I imagined that their love story would contain more comedy than romance. In a welcome twist, Bailey sends the two lovers on a romantic journey and depicts what in many romance novels would be a sex scene. She arches into him, he runs his hands over her ribcage, and... they pull apart, breathing raggedly. For romance's sake, Katie, why tease the reader and then cut it off?So That Happened provides a lot of laughs and heartwrenching encounters at Luke and Mindy's wedding (Mindy is another cameo character from The Neighbor War), along with a hero and heroine who both entice the reader to fall in love with them while waiting for them to fall in love with each other. Highly recommended!

What could come of a cancelled flight?
Getting an ARC during report card writing season wasn’t the best timing for me but I will never give up the opportunity to read and review a book by Katie Bailey. This is the slowest I have ever read one of Katie’s books, not because I wasn’t interested but because I had to use it as a reward for doing my own work. I don’t recommend it.Katie does 3 things amazingly well: describing every detail so you can picture yourself there, making characters you want to always have in your life, and making pop cultural references that tug at your millennial heart. Is Liam Donovan going to be a cinnamon roll or crunchy granola? Maybe a Venus fly trap? Will Annie Jacobs overcome foot-in-mouth syndrome and learn to not hide in the washroom? This story is a true rom-com. It was filled with romance (and very detailed kisses) and comedy. I feel like only my life could match Annie’s in ‘what can go wrong will go wrong’.From an unexpected and untimely meeting to opening up and being honest, Annie and Liam are loveable characters you root for!Maybe Lana Mae’s story will be next? I’d love to see more of the Donovan family in the future!
