Aurora AU120MA 120-Sheet Auto Feed High Security Micro-Cut Paper Shredder / 30 Minutes (Black)

I am a real person who was not part of a promotion, nor paid for my evaluation -- this is my actual experience.I need to start by saying I'm a mechanical idiot. I needed a shredder that could handle large jobs because my husband passed away, and he had decades of papers in boxes because he didn't believe in throwing things out. As in, why he had tax returns from before we were married from the 80's and 90's, I just don't know.Anyway -- this shredder had a lot of great reviews from lots of places (including Wire**tter) and it would take 120 sheets at a time, so I figured I'd give it a try.You have to put the wheels on. That was HARD -- you have to line them up exactly correctly, and then use a lot of pressure. But if I can do it, anyone can. And I did!Then, following the instructions, I plugged it in and pressed the "on" button on the back, and nothing. I was sure it was broken. BUT it turns out there's also an on/off button on the front, and you need to use both of them. (Did I mention I was a mechanical idiot?)I thought the paper didn't fit in the 120 sheet area, but it turns out you need to place them DOWN the back chute (Aurora should give better instructions!).I closed the top, and it started shredding. And then, no sound after a really short time. I figured I'd done somethingwrong, or it jammed, or broke, BUT NO!!! Everything had shredded and I kept loading it up with more stacks, and in about 5 minutes, all of my late husband's 1981 records had completed shredding. Per the instructions, I turned it off and pulled the plug.ON TO 1982!!!This machine is really a gem. It works well, and it's quiet, and I was able to use it without having to call someone to explain it to me. I LOVE IT!!

Works well, not too loud when shredding paper and I like the fact that I can pull it where ever I want throughout the house.

I've been using this shredder for about two months. It works very well and has already saved me about $150 I would otherwise have had to pay a commercial service to shred my documents. Here are some things I've learned to do, to optimize its operation. 1. Empty the bin when it's about 2/3 full. 2. Oil the shredding teeth once a month; performance oil works better than vegetable oil. 3. To avoid jamming, don't insert more than about 10 sheets of paper at a time into the shredding slot. 4. The shredder will take CDs one at a time, but if it jams, open the lid, remove the CD, and try again. I'm not shredding CDs any more than is absolutely necessary, as the machine definitely struggles to pull them through the shredding gears. Shredded paper, CDs, etc. come out in confetti-sized pieces, which is a definite improvement on my previous strip-cut shredder. All in all, I'm very happy with this shredder and would recommend it for purchase.

It shreds stack of documents with no problem. They truly honor their warranty and support their products.

Only one design flaw I don't like. There's a way too sensitive "I'm full and won't shred anymore until you resolve this issue." It does this so regularly, it's kinda like the automotive industries "lane keep assist" that vibrates your posterior while try to take over the wheel to ger you back into your lane! What am I saying? A lot of tech today is over the top stupid and does not work well. I know when my shredding container is full, getting full, almost full, and heading that way! I don't need an electronic nanny nagging me to look! It's like all of industry is treating us like we're 5 year olds!Other than the above reasonable rant.....It's a good machine.

This arrived today and I used it already. This is hands down the best shredder I have ever owned. I ran it for about 45 minutes putting in no more than 1 to 2 sheets at a time. The shredder never felt warm to the touch during that time. It ran like a champ. My old shredder that this one is replacing could barely run ten minutes using 1 to 2 sheets at a time. And the old shredder would be hot to the touch and have to stay off an hour before I could use it again. The wheels are a plus. The shredder is heavy so be careful when mounting it on the basket. The basket is pretty big. Do yourself a favor and line the basket with a garbage bag for easier clean up after the shredding is done. The only thing that I didn't like about the shredder is the auto feed function. The auto feed feels like a useless gimmick to me. It's not a selling point. I will purchase some shredder oil to make sure this last a long time. Well worth the price.Update: 10/12/25 after very limited use over the last 2 years I go to use this today and it will not even turn on. And by limited use I mean I use this thing once every 5 to 6 months for maybe an hour. How disappointing that it is completely dead already. I have had much cheaper shredders last longer than this. Changing my original 4 star review down to a 1 star review. Aurora Company and Amazon you need to do better.

So much better than my old shredder which could only handle 2-3 sheets at a time although was supposed to handle 8. The only issue with the auto-feeder is that it doesn't like sheets that have been folded in half ( my bank sends statements in that manner). They jam up if the fold is to the top when you load them into the auto feed, but it seems that if the creases are uppermost, then it works. So far, having worked through a 6 inch stack of paper this shredder is quiet, and efficient. It does complain of a full bin when appearing to be only half full, but that is a minor issue

Awesome shredder. Enjoy the bulk shredding option of 50-100 pages at a time. Great for old bank statements, old tax documents, etc... Handles credit cards and CDs just fine. Does not do well with metal bank/credit cards, however. I didn't pay attention and dropped an old Amazon metallic card in it and it was not happy. It jammed, but I could clear it. No damages. I wish the basket would hold more, my biggest and only real complaint. Very happy with the features and the fact it wasn't a $250 dollar machine. Definitely worth the money. I would recommend and purchase again.

This is a US model and cannot be used in UK. It should not be sold in UK without making that clear. I have returned but have not received a refund yet.

Not suitable for UK. This machine requires US 120 volt 60 Hz power and is not earthed. I can't fond that information on the UK amazon web page. Also company should know not to supply it fpr export to UK. I will try to return it, but expect the cost will exceed any potential refund, in which case it will have to be scrapped.

We have been using it for 6 months in an office and it works great. We add papers to the tray through the day and set it to shred at the end of the day. The self feed tray is very useful.
