OKUMASierra Spare Spool Fly Reel

I own two of these in 5/6wt and 7/8wt, excellent quality rugged reels. Has a one inch depth which I filled with 1/4inch of 30lb backing and filled the rest with 90ft of sinking line with plenty of clearance at the top of the spool.

Had to do some polishing on the main shaft. Would not slide down to the latch position. Trial and error polishing inner and out shaft post and holes. Used fine grit emory cloth and sand paper. some shaft grease and all is well. Took about 30 minutes. works fine now. OKUMA needs to make these reel more corrosion proof. Not a high rating for this. Fresh water reel OK. Salt about a 3 on the ten scale.

Bought two of these as a replacement spool for my husband's Okuma reel. Neither of them fit. Very disappointed.

The Okuma Sierra reels are excellent in all areas: finishing, function of drag mechanism, and weight for size intended. I have a few that I have purchased from Amazon across a few years. Thank you for offering a fine product.

As advertised, nice quality for an inexpensive spare spool; handy to have for a quick change from one line type to another without carrying a second full rig. Has not helped me catch any fish, but to be fair, I should put some backing and line on it and try it out first.

Came on time and in perfect condition, it's everything the original reels spool is. Nothing more to say.

These reals and spools are a great product that have lasted me for years.
