Unmatched hold with classic charm
I’ve only used Death Grip before, so I was excited to try more from Vintage Grooming—and it definitely didn’t disappoint.Death Grip Moustache Wax delivers exactly what the name promises—a seriously strong hold that keeps your style locked in all day. Whether you’re out in the wind, heat, or humidity, this wax keeps your moustache looking sharp and perfectly in place. The texture is very firm and requires the use of a hair dryer to apply heat, making the wax workable and ensuring a smooth application without clumping. Once softened, it goes on cleanly and gives excellent control. It leaves a slightly tacky feel, but not in a negative way—it just ensures your stache stays in place all day without feeling too stiff or hard. What I really appreciate is that it’s made with natural ingredients and has a subtle, pleasant scent—nothing overpowering, just a touch of that classic barbershop feel.To clean my moustache, I used to rely on baby oil to help break down the wax before washing it out with shampoo, but I found that shampoo tended to dry it out. Lately, I’ve been skipping the shampoo altogether. Instead, I use an oil to loosen the wax, wipe off the excess with a dry cloth, and then thoroughly rinse with water in the bath. This method keeps my stache healthy, soft, and even a bit shapeable without wax. This is the first time I’ve used Night Fury, and I’m impressed. It has a lovely, subtle citrus scent. After applying just a few drops and waiting a couple of minutes, I work it through with my fingers and gently massage it into the hairs and any remaining wax, then wipe off. It leaves the moustache feeling clean, nourished, and not greasy.I’m also excited to try the other three waxes in their range—Bare Bones, Bone Crusher, and Sudden Death. Bare Bones sounds perfect for those days when I want hold but without the stiffness. Sudden Death offers a firm hold without needing a hair dryer, ideal for quicker routines. And Bone Crusher promises an extra firm hold without the tackiness, which sounds perfect for when I want even more structure. The presentation box is of good quality and feels sturdy. The corners were a little damaged, but I imagine that’s more due to transit during delivery than a fault with the product itself. The two metal combs included have a nice weight and a smooth finish, showing good craftsmanship. Each has a hole for attaching to a keyring, which is a handy feature. I doubt I’ll use the larger one, as I shave my pate bald, but the smaller comb will definitely be part of my regular grooming kit.Whether you’re shaping a modest stache or going full Dali, Death Grip gives you the control and confidence to wear your style proudly. Highly recommend for anyone serious about moustache grooming.

Sudden Death is a great strong wax that does not require heating
I have a reasonably strong Nicolas II stylee handlebar moustache and have been looking for a good strong but usable wax for a number of years. I have been using the Beard and the Wonderful and Captain Fawcetts, and found those to be easy and pleasant to use, but with those my moustache needs to be put back in place regularly throughout the day.I found this brand and started out with Death Grip and Bone Crusher, assuming that a stronger wax would be better. Both waxes gave a good result, but were a hassle to use - using the tool provided to scrape out wax and then heat it with a hair dryer to soften, and apply with more hair dryer before cooling, made my moustache look great but was too much like hard work. It also left a layer of sticky wax on the bathroom tap and anything else I touched before I managed to wash it off my hands. The kids were not happy. In the end I compromised and ordered Sudden Death and I could not be happier. It can be scraped out with a thumb nail and warmed using my fingers, and only on the very coldest mornings does it benefit from a gentle hairdryer. Once applied and cooled, it lasts for a whole day with only the occasional twist so long as it doesn't get wet. It doesn't cope well with drinks, but the flipside to that is that it washes out easily. I guess you can't have everything, but I am very happy with to have discovered this wax, and I don't mind drinking my coffee from a reusable "takeaway cup" if it keeps my whiskers looking magnificent all day. :o)

Not for the faint of heart
This is a long lasting wax with an incredibly firm hold so if you're disappointed with how long your current wax lasts (as I was) this could be the one for you. However this could be a little too long lasting, when I first used the wax I had to shampoo it three times to get it out, it's sticky to the point where it no longer feels like wax once it's in and isn't easily removed. Another downside is that it's pretty much mandatory to use a hair dryer to soften it otherwise it's unworkable, not the worst but it definitely prolongs the length of time it takes to apply it. Lastly due to it's sticky nature if you find yourself touching your moustache once it's applied you can look forward to leaving a residue on everything you touch afterwards. This wax delivers everything it promises but that does come with downsides, I would recommend you purchase the wax remover also offered by Death Grip as it's designed to easily remove it negating one of the downsides.

STRONG!
I bought this more for my crazy beard days, when I really need it to stay in place! It is significantly heavier than beard balm, but this is what I wanted. I love the guitar pick in the small pot, it allows you get exactly the right amount out with out difficulty. It is sticky compared to balm, you really need to warm it up to apply, but I don't find it greasy. Smell is a bit smokey, but not offensive. It washes out relatively easily considering how heavy the wak is.
