Great Dressmaker or Quilter's Iron
I don't know if I am a certified customer, but I DID buy this iron from Amazon long ago. This is one seriously good buy that I have made. My mother thought I was nuts to spend this much on a steam iron, but this one really does what it is supposed to do and does it well. Now that I have it, I am really glad. My previous iron would turn off after a few minutes, leaving me constantly frustrated waiting for it to reheat after a quick trip to the sewing machine. This iron will stay hot. I do not know exactly how long, but after about one half hour or so it does beep to remind you that is still on. If you leave it turned on and facedown, it will beep after a few minutes. This iron really brings the heat, and it brings the steam as well, making short work out of yards of wrinkled cotton duck canvas, yet it has a delicate touch when turned to the "synthetic" or "silk" settings. This is a relatively heavy iron, so it does the work for you, not leaving you to push it into the fabric trying to get the effect you want. There are several accessories that you'll want to have in addition to the iron. One is a delicate teapot or a small funnel for getting water into the steam tank opening. The steam tank holds a good bit of water, but it will overflow if you put too much in. No harm done; you just have some water to mop up. The tank holds about 300 mL, or a little over a cup. Be ready to refill often if you are using the steam setting. Another item you will want to have is an iron cleaning kit. This is an awesome iron, and it does not get sticky easily, but it is a fact of life that all irons will encounter gunk eventually, particularly if you are working with starch. I use a kit made by Rowenta, and it has held out for years. It has a tube of cleaning compound, a rag for applying it to the iron's sole, and a last rag for polishing the sole of the iron when you are done cleaning. When you get the kit, read the directions for more specific details. The last tool I find handy is a hair mister. You will find one listed as a beauty product. It sprays a very fine mist on the fabric you are working on and you can control the density of the mist by the distance that you hold the tool. There is a sprayer mounted on the iron, but the spray it puts out is anemic and difficult to place where you need the water. So do yourself a favor and pick up a hairspray out from the beauty department. I have two of them! Please watch your left hand if you are right-handed. I was holding some fabric down with my left hand while I was ironing, and by accident I tipped the iron in the direction of my left hand. The burn I inflicted on my left index finger was something to behold. The day after the burn, it blistered to the point where the blister popped. At that point I kept it under a Band-Aid for a number of days until the burn healed enough to do without a Band-Aid. I almost nailed my thumb a little while later, but I put ice on it right away and I must not have gotten that much steam on it because it only hurt a little bit for a few days. Forgive me if this is too much information, but you really need to know. If you are left-handed, keep an eye on your right hand. While I am on the topic of hands, I might as well mention that this iron is ambidextrous. You may use it equally with either hand. If you are serious about your sewing, get this iron. If you are just starting out and you have the money, get this iron. If you have kids around, maybe get a different iron, one that turns off right away when you leave it. This includes most irons. If you are just starting out and you do not get this iron, eventually you might want to upgrade. I'm just saying.

Great iron!
Best iron I’ve ever owned. I’m sure there are irons better but this one is pretty darn good! Lots of steam, long cord, timer, perfect weight. I love it.

Powerful Steam, Smooth Results, and Easy to Use
I absolutely love this CHI Steam Iron. The sheer number of steam holes gives the steam function a serious run for its money, and it makes ironing feel much faster and more effective. The temperature control is easy to adjust, which makes it useful for different fabric types without feeling like I am guessing. It heats up well and produces a strong, steady steam output, which helps smooth wrinkles quickly. For portability, it is not overly bulky and is easy enough to move around, store, and use when needed. I also like the versatility because it works well for everyday clothing, heavier fabrics, touch-ups, and more delicate items when the temperature is adjusted properly. The iron feels stable while in use and sits securely when placed upright, which is important to me. Overall, it feels reliable, well-made, and powerful. I am very happy with it and would definitely recommend it.

Glides Like a Dream — My New Favorite Iron
My cheap iron broke, so I decided to upgrade. I picked up this CHI steam iron on sale, and I’m honestly impressed. This thing feels like a premium upgrade the moment you plug it in. The 1700 watts heat up fast, and the 300+ steam holes make a huge difference — the steam comes out evenly and powerfully, so wrinkles disappear with almost no effort. The titanium‑infused ceramic soleplate glides beautifully across fabric. No snagging, no dragging, just smooth passes that make ironing feel quick and easy. The temperature dial is clear and simple to use, and the 10‑foot cord gives you plenty of room to move around without feeling tethered to the outlet. I also appreciate the 3‑way auto shutoff for safety. It’s one of those features you don’t think about until you need it, and it gives me peace of mind. For the price I paid, this was an incredible deal. It performs like a high‑end iron, feels solid in the hand, and makes ironing noticeably faster. However, my mom didn’t like it. She said it was too heavy for her. I might have to get her a lighter iron.

Awesome quilting iron
This iron is awesome. If you are a quilter you need this iron. After my second Oliso iron died after a couple months, I really didn't have much hope of finding a decent iron. I'm sad to say Oliso is overpriced garbage now. This iron is less than half the price, better heat, steam, and doesn't shut off automatically for half an hour. I like that I can take my hand off it for a second without it rising up like the Oliso would. I had never heard of Chi irons before, but I don't think I will be buying any other brand from now on.

Good iron, strong steam bursts
I immediately put the iron to the test upon receiving it, so I might update it after more use. First impression - good weight - not too heavy, not too light. Strong bursts of steam - a plus. I ironed two dozen T-shirts and shirts and the water was deplited. The cord attachment to the iron resembles the joint - the ball is moving within the socket, which prevents bending, however, it gets in the way when moving more to the left and wrinkled already ironed fabric. Overall, it is a solid performance for a reasonably priced iron. We will see, if it will have a leakage, like its predecessor. My ideal iron is continued steam without water dripping, but so far, I was not successful in finding it

Abundance of steam
This is a first time purchase of this iron, and I've been using it for over 2 months. I am very pleased in several ways. It is lightweight, but for me, the perfect size and the pointed end is just right. The dials are easy to use and the iron very easily goes from no steam to as much as you need, and the best news is...NO LEAKING or SPITTING. This is a big feature for me. It heats up very quickly and stays on for more than 30 min. It makes an audible sound when it's heated and also when it times out. At that point the red light starts to blink. I previously owned a Reliable and it was fantastic till it wore out. But it's pricey so I decided to try a different brand. I am well pleased. I do a lot of sewing, quilting, and therefore, ironing. I hope my review is convincing.

Not good
If I could give this a negative star I would. I bought it and I also have a family member who has the same one and has experienced the same things. It has barely been used yet. The plate gets sticky and ruins clothing. I have cleaned it and done. Everything required. I shouldn’t have to do this to a new iron. It has ruined clothing. Trust me bend more money on a different iron. This does not live up to the name G CHI!

Steams like the bomb!
I hope to never have to buy another iron again. I’m going to really look after this one! Unplug at the source, turn it to low, fill when not plugged in, fill with distilled water, not use spray starch! I read the instructions & more because I want this to be my last iron! I didn’t take care of my previous iron as well & I cleaned it many times with distilled water & vinegar but it leaked rust onto my beautiful white linens so it’s history. This one was on sale, was highly rated & came in less than 2 days. I used it for hours tonight, the cord is a sufficient length for my space, it uses a lot of water, steams like the bomb! Had a pointed tip which is great for getting into pleats! It’s a dream iron. Get it!
