Greenwood Essential Pure Cassia Essential Oil (Cinnamomum cassia) Steam Distilled 30ml (1 oz)

During lockdown, I have been using essential oils to blend my own bath and body oils, soaps and for general diffusing. This has helped to keep me entertained and busy and I feel that I have benefited from the sense of wellbeing and calm that essential oil use can provide. I have been trying to learn about essential oils and their properties as I go along - Thanks to the internet, information is more accessible than ever, and I have managed to come across oils and carrier oils that I had not previously been aware of. I think like most amateurs, I had heard of oils such as lavender, ylang ylang and jasmine but was not familiar with others such as cassia. For those of you who are just learning, as I am, Cassia is a member of the cinnamon family and is often substituted for pure cinnamon. Cassia does have the familiar, warming scent of cinnamon and is great for using in festive blends. Cassia oil is thought to be benefitial for the immune system, as it aids circulation and digestion. It also contributes to general wellbeing and has been used as an anti-depressant traditionally.I have used this oil with my favourite carrier oil, almond, to create bath oils and body oils. By applying essential oils to the skin, their benefits are absorbed in to the system while also nourishing your skin. The warming scent is very calming and does remind me of winter - it would be perfect if you were making festive wax melts or bath oils.Greenwood Essentials is a brand that produces quality oils at a reasonable price. They are not the cheapest on the market, but their oils are always of a decent quality and are undiluted. I am a big fan of this brand as I have yet to encounter an oil that I am unhappy with, and so I am happy to recommend this item.

I know it’s rather obvious but easily overlooked that the most important thing you have to ensure with any essential oils is that you have a good tight screw top so that it doesn’t evaporate. This oil comes in a brown glass bottle with a plastic dropper included loose in the paper box, with a very tight closing plastic top. It arrives with a small plastic disc stopping any of the precious contents from escaping and it does that very effectively. When you are ready to use it, insert the dropper and count out the drops into your carrier oil. Always screw the top on securely and store it upright.I love the aroma of cinnamon that you get with cassia commonly known as Chinese cinnamon. I particularly like it in the winter time and at Christmas but I also like to use it in sweet and savoury dishes throughout the year. I have also added a drop to my herbal teas and found it very calming. I don’t know why but it just feels luxurious. Cassia also has many health benefits too numerous to mention here but well worth the research.If you are new to aromatherapy make sure that you always use the essential oil with a carrier oil if you intend to use it on the skin. I’m pleased to see this instruction is on the bottle.This is exceptional value for money, the 30ml bottle is currently priced at £ 8.99 and as such it is a cost effective way of trying out cassia. I will certainly be buying this oil in future, I recommend it. The oil I received was packed in March 2021 with an expiry date of Feb 2024. I had very fast delivery.

Excellent value for 30mls, as a little lasts a long time. This is quality oil from the Greenwood company. I have used other essential oils from their range and have always beem pleased with their product. Aromas are natural and original, not artificially or chemically created.When I first opened this bottle, the first thing I thought I could smell was Marzipan but a split second later the beautiful, warm and rich aroma of cinnamon reached me. It really is lovely. I put 2mls into one of my homemade citrus wax melts which I have made in standard size souffle dishes and put it into the warming dish of my electric filigree burner, and I am not disappointed. The aroma in my front hall is devine and very soft and welcoming. My hall is a T shape with a very long back hall branching off the main front one, and the beautiful warm hint of cinnamon eventually reaches the opposite end of the long hall, carried on air movement. This is not overpowering. It is subtle. I never knew what Cassia smelled like, but having experienced this one I will definitely re-purchase when this one is finished. It is likely to be a while though with this 30mls likely to last for some time yet.

Greenwood Essential produce consistently high quality products at reasonable prices (aside from their carrier/base oils which I always find expensive) and in such variety as is difficult to find elsewhere. In fact, Greenwood Essential has taken me on a massive journey of discovery. Every time I think I have a complete set of oils, I discover a new one.This particular oil smells lovely and warming. I love cinnamon and having it as an essential oil is really useful. It has multiple uses: it is antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory; can be used as an insect repellent; and due to its warming attributes, it is good for relieving such ailments as arthritis.

Greenwood Essential are renowned for producing high quality oils and their Pure Cassis Essential Oil keeps up their good reputation. The oil is in a small amber bottle holding 30ml with a plastic stopper in the neck to prevent leaks and a separate dropper in the box for pouring the correct amount of drops. This Cassis oil has a lovely strong fragrance that I’m using in my diffuser and as you don’t need many drops at one time the bottle will last for quite a long time.
