I keep coming back
OVERALL:I have used these walking shoes for a few weeks before writing this review which I hope you will find useful and overall I am very happy with them. I have used Merrell walking shoes for years and have just changed from the Moab 2. I find that I can walk all day long in Merrell shoes I think that the footbed shape that Merrell use suits my foot shape.I have used these Moab 3’s for walking on pavements and fields in dry and rainy conditions and they have so-far performed really well and kept my feet dry.SIZING:I usually buy UK size 10s for my walking shoes and tried these shoes on in size 10 with some walking socks and found them to be just a little too short. The shop I was in did not have the 10.5s in stock so I ordered them from Amazon instead. Having received these in size 10.5, I am happy with the sizing. The Amazon listing does not seem to include the Euro sizing but I can confirm as per the attached picture of the side of the box that these UK 10.5s are also marked Euro size 45, USA size 11 and 29cm.LIFE:These Moab3 shoes have a different Vibram sole to the Moab 2s and perhaps because they are new they seem to be a little stiffer which I think is a good thing for a walking shoe. I usually only have to change my Merrell shoes because they have become worn out. Usually the sole has worn out but being so comfortable I am reluctant to change until something else starts to fail. I did have a couple of pairs where after the soles had worn the upper started to separate from the sole which was the final decision making point to change to a new pair. I keep on buying Merrell shoes so I am happy with the comfort/price/life equation.WATERPROOFINGThere is a GTX and non GTX version of the Moab 3 and as far as I can tell the difference is that the GTX have a layer of Goretex waterproofing but the non GTX versions do not have this layer which makes them more breathable. With previous Merrells I have found that initially the waterproofing is very good but when they have been used for a while and are nearing the end of their life, the waterproofing does seem to fail so time will tell how long the waterproofing works with these Moab 3.

Sizing is complicated
This is a day one review so can't comment on the waterproof lining or how the durability of the shoe will hold up over time, Normally I am a size 8, but after doing my research I got a size 9, this fit me perfectly, I got the Bracken colour which was made in veitnam. where the shoe is made is relevant to how you size up. From veitnam go a full size up or if it is made elsewhere go half a size up, use this info as a starting point to help figure out your own sizing as your foot shape could be different to my own, style wise it is a nice shoe, it has a comfy arch to support your foot and the heel on the sole is quite wide which I like for stability, overall for now I am happy with my purchase and the price

Half size bigger than normal!
I’m a dog walker so go through shoes quickly. No such thing as waterproof for more than a few months with constant ware but as long as I get from April to November without them falling apart I’m happy. It’s French wellies for winter as boots don’t cope with constant wet weather. These Merrell boots were on offer and seem a bargain, they’re well made and haven’t leaked yet but it’s been fairly dry as yet. I tried a pair of size 9s in Sports Direct but were too tight but alas they didn’t have a 9.5!I went on Amazon and found a pair for about a third less so happy days!Look good too😊

Comfortable and waterproof. Reasonably sturdy too.
I bought my first pair of these just as we went into lockdown - so early 2020 - and I'm now on to my third pair. I haven't even tried on others types since, because these do just what I need. The previous pair had done two years of long walks several times each week over all kinds of terrain, and, although structurally no longer up to scratch, the weatherproofing had lasted. They happen to fit me well, although that won't be true for everyone, of course!

Dissapointed with quality and wet feet
Purchased in April for medium use (about 30miles per wk). Pleased at first, watertight and comfortable, until inner lining on heal wore through (repaired with insert July) no longer waterproof by September even when just walking in wet grass.

Comode
