- Chaekgeori (책거리; 冊距離) is a folk painting from Joseon Dynasty in th e 18th century. As a bibliophile and likes to promote studios learning, King Jeongjo was the first one to commision the first painting.
- The Chaekgeori , also called Munbangdo , mainly represents books and also certain objects that scholars liked: stationery, ceramics, bronze objects, flowers, fruits and many others, of different colors.
- The Chaekgeori was first embraced by the aristrocrats but then spread to the folk art of the common class, which resulted in more expressionist and abstract depictions, and the diminished prominence of bookshelves as a primary motif.
