I'd give it 6 Stars if I could
My family abuses this case. I bought it after researching every case on the market a year ago. We have owned it for a year and I should state the primary user is a toddler. We bought an iPad mini for him to watch videos on the long rides to the Grandparents houses & flights. Due to a 45 min commute in the morning we let him watch Thomas, play some games etc in the car also. This case has been eaten over, thrown up on, thrown across rooms, dropped, stepped on and jumped on. Not that we encourage these activities but since our toddler is a very active, energetic boy these things happen. I'm amazed every time I take the iPad out that it still looks brand new. It's not that hard to take the iPad out and the design hasn't inspired our toddler to try. It cleans up easily also. I just take the pieces, put them in the sink with dish soap and let it air dry overnight. The rubber exterior makes the case easy to prop up without slipping (think airline seat trays) but can gather crumbs or lint if the bag you carry it in isn't clean. It is easy to wipe down (baby wipes) so not an issue for us. The plastic that protects the screen does not interfere with the touch ability at all.

Built in screen protector.
Overall this case will do a good job protecting your device, but I don't like it.The good:This case provides excellent protections from drops, dings, and scratches. It uses a hard iner frame sourounded by a very nice grippy silicon shell. The bad:1) Buttons are too easly pushed. I am always hitting either the home, power, or volume buttons when just holding and viewing my iPad.2) Flaps that cover the ports (headphone jack and lightning connector) are cumbersome.3) The biggest grip I have abut this is the built in screen protector. There is a clear hard plastic screen cover attached to the iner frame of the case. It does a good job for what it's supposed to do. The screen is still very responsive with it. The problem is that I use a normal screen protector, in this case a Zagg cover, and when the two of them make contact the tend to stick together making a kind of reverse bubble, stuck together in the middle and a thin air pocket on the outside. This makes for a poor view. The other part about the build in screen protector I don't like, is after it gets scratched up, what am I supposed to do? Buy a whole new case?Final thought:I have for now opted out of using the interal frame and just have the silicon shell on the mini. This works ok and has kept my iPad safe for now, but it is quite loose. Looking for a new case. Hope speck comes out with a tough skin for the mini soon. This case if not for the screen protector problem could of been an easy 4 star product.

Nice case but no instructions included
I broke the screen protector part attempting to put the iPad mini in. Now I see how it should open, but too late. I am using a stick on screen protector now. The package includes no instructions whatsoever. I'm going to ask the company to replace the screen protector part.Other than that it seems to be a nice protective case

Not as rugged as I expected
The skeleton for the case is somewhat thin and doesn't appear to be very stout. As well, it only covers the front portion of the I-pad. The backside is not covered by the skeleton, admittedly covered by the rubber casing after its slipped on. Comparatively, I'd favor the otterbox defender case over this.

Good case but charge plug covered
the sleep button is covered with a rubber button that makes it stick out too far. Holding the unit horizontally it is easy to inadvertently hit the sleep button and is tough to avoid. I glued small rubber faucet washers on either side of the button so it is protected from inadvertent touches.

the only issue is that it looks and feels like a solid piece
the only issue is that it looks and feels like a solid piece. where I was tugging on it was not the actual seam and I ended up having to google how to open the case. how hard would it have been to put that somewhere on the packaging?

Great case....
Case is great.... This is my second one. The first lasted 2 years. the downside is the clear plastic cover is not replaceable as on other cases. I had to buy the whole case even though the rubber part of the case was great. Clear cover eventually leaked.

Not Bad
Not bad if you are clumsy with your iPad. The rubber outside tends to pick up lint and dirt and doesn't feel that great after extended use. There are better options with the same protection amount.
