Recently we took our digs to a new groomer. She did a terrible job and nicked patches face in several spots. When we got him home we put a little antibiotic on the spots and thought no more of it. The next day I saw that he had scratched the side of his face until he made a bald and raw/bloody spot. Cleaned him up again and put an old dog cone on him that we had from our other dog. It was soon obvious it wasn't going to stay on. I ordered this set which was supposed to be 2 different sized cones, and was supposed to arrive in 2 days. It arrived on time and actually included 3 sizes of cones. The middle one fit perfectly, is strong enough that he can't break it and kept him from scratching his face. Took about 6 days for him to heal up and now we have 3 cones in case we need them again. Highly recommend.

Product works and is easy to put on / take off. However, as the Velcro makes it adjustable, if you do not apply the 2 sides completely to cover the adjacent Velcro part, it leaves a rough edge where pet can scratch their face against. Velcro should be installed on opposite side, so smooth surface only is inside the cone.

Wonder why I rate this so highly? If so, then you probably have just one calm dog or don’t plan on supervising well.I had three, 100lb, dogs together and did forget and leave them outside unsupervised for a couple hours- hence the damage.This collar is exceptionally strong. Every other collar I’ve used has been ripped off within an hour. I have a large pack of Anatolians who protect my homestead. Injuries and normal vetting (spay/neuter) require the use of collars to prevent additional damage. No other collar can compare to how well this one has held up. I ordered another set because the XL was at its limit for this young and small (85lb) dog.

hello, my puppy is a 1-year-old 45 lb pitbull, with an eye infection with a bad case of wanting to scratch it. We have used the very sturdy hard plastic cones and he was doing all right with them, I thought he was uncomfortable so I decided to get these. Either my baby really big escape artist ( which he's not), or this cone just ain't worth it. He managed to pull it off within 10 minutes. I timed him and was really upset, which means he proceeded to tear the cone to shreds. I'll stick to the sturdier ones, that he's comfortable in . If it's not broken, don't fix it. Maybe this would work on a much smaller dog who doesn't throw hissy fits, and very short arms. I regifted my other one to my neighbor. She has a corgi, hopefully it works out for her.
