Very visible
I used these when my truck got stuck in a ditch. The red flashing light could be seen fron 150 yards away!

Exactly as expected for the price
The media could not be loaded. Good little flasher for top of a cone to grab attention in dark areas or around corners where headlights may not hit the reflective strips. 2 flash modes and steady on. Not a high dollar product but it does the job.For all the reviews that claimed defective, as well as future purchasers please be advised that the battery polarity markings (if visible at all) are in consistent. To properly operate install batteries in series (one right side up and one upside down) IE you end up with one battery positive terminal and one battery negitive terminal racing up. Then install the battery compartment on the unit and try pressing the button, if it doesn’t work, remove the battery compartment and rotate 180 degrees, thus reversing the polarity to the unit (this is a DC appliance, polarity matters unlike AC devices) this should then fix the problem and it will work fine.I agree better marking or instructions would help however it is a rather simple circuit and only 2 variables so easy to fix in less than 30 seconds. As far as the button being on the bottom I hypothize this is done to avoid water intrusion , having a single cast “dome” makes water ingress impossible. Locating any penetration on the side would negate this .Over all not bad for about 3 bucks each, once you figure it out.

I don't think they are arriving broken.
I bought 4 of these (2 pairs) even after reading the negative reviews. At first 3 of them "didn't work" for me either. At first I thought I had gotten "bad" ones just like everyone else. Then I took 2 minutes and got them all working. Here's the secret: You can't just put batteries into them and expect them to work, unless you get lucky. Here's why.The batteries have to go in the base in one specific way, AND the top has to go on one specific way, even though it will also go on the wrong way. There are very small "+" signs on the top and the body that are difficult to see. So basically, if you are not paying attention, you have a 1 in 4 chance of putting the batteries in correctly the first time you try. After realizing that, and getting everything lined up correctly all 4 of mine worked great. My only issue with them is that the power/mode switch is on the bottom of the rim of the blinker. Which is also the same place where the blinker touches the lip of the traffic cone when you put it in. This means that if you don't set the blinker into the cone gently, you will hit the switch and change the mode or turn it off when it hits the top lip of the cone. A switch on the side, or the bottom of the base would have been a better choice. The battery life is great, we used these for 4-5 hours every weekend (Fri, Sat, Sun) for 3 weekends and I even left them on all night on accident once. The batteries were still fine when we were done with all of our holiday events.

Too small
Too small to be of any use. One barely lit up and the other one did not work at all.

A good bright light
I use the lights with our cone's to block off an area. I like them, but they do use up batteries fast. The other thing I think needs to improve is the on and off button. It's easy to turn on and off but it stops working after a while. But the lights are still worth having and so I'll keep using them 😊
