Party bus vs. luxury RV.
I brought these switches for one purpose and one purpose only... To write an honest review proving they were overhyped. So, how did that go? === === === === === === === === === === [Feel] When it comes to tactility, these pass the test. The bump isn't the crispiest, but it is noticeable and satisfying. The travel is average, and the resistance is about average. The lubing is adequate and consistent. [Sound] But you want to know if these are silent. And I hate to admit it, against my own biases; but they sure are. No, it's not hype, these switches are VERY quiet (I mean, nothing is truly 'silent,' but they meet the intent in stunning fashion). === === === === === === === === === === [Bottom Line] I can't hate on these switches. They deliver solid quality and construction and great tactility. Are they budget? NOOOO! Not at all. However, it feels like this is very much like comparing the difference between a party bus, and a luxury RV. Both can certainly get you to your destination and you may even have a good time in both. But it is only after you experience the true luxury option that you will truly understand the difference. These switches ARE the luxury option. This is an easy recommendation if you have the munyuns! Hope that helps; happy typing!

Feels great, sounds good
Excellent switches. Bought them to build my wife a keyboard, but ended up loving the final product and stealing it. Actually typing a bit faster on this board than my previous Cherry MX Green board. Bought the 110 switch pack, and out of the ~105 used on this board, no switches were defective. Switches slotted into the boards with no issues, and everything worked right out of the gate. I'm guessing that people complaining that these are scratchy and require lubing got a bad batch, as mine are buttery smooth. Sound is pleasant, but not the deepest sound in the world that some people are looking for. My only complaint is that they are now cheaper than when I bought them. 10/10, would highly recommend.

Silent precision
The Durock Silent Shrimp switches are a solid choice if you’re looking for a quiet tactile switch for work or shared spaces. They’re pretty silent, making them great for an office environment, and the tactile bump feels nice and well-defined without being harsh. The switches also feel springy and responsive, which gives typing a lively feel despite the silence. That said, there are a few downsides. The key press is on the heavier side, which might not be ideal for people who prefer lighter switches or type for long periods. The blue housing affects RGB, making it impossible to get white lighting. They’re also a bit pricey, especially when compared to alternatives like the Akko Penguins. While the Shrimp switches do feel more crisp, the price difference may not be worth it for everyone. Overall, Durock Silent Shrimps are excellent silent tactile switches with a satisfying feel and great noise reduction, but the heavier press, RGB limitations, and higher price are worth considering before buying.

Pretty quiet switch with P shaped bump
I mostly like see these switches. They have a medium strong weight and the tactile bump is quite high up, so P shaped (as opposed to D shaped). They feel pretty good to type on and are relatively quiet. My coworkers on video calls couldn’t hear me typing which was one of my goals buying this switch. But it does have a little bit of a noise, sorta high pitched but still subtle somehow. Search Milktooth’s YouTube videos for silent switches to get a pretty good idea of the sound profile compared to other switches. I used these for a little under a month before I moved on to another silent switch, Penguins, which I prefer since the Shrimps were just a tad bit strong for my preferences and I also realized I like a lower D shaped bump a little more than the Shrimp’s high P shape. But I think that a lot of people will like this switch a lot.

Like Schlotzky's: Silly Name, Serious Silence - worth the money!
Sounds corny but these are life changing because they really are SO quiet. First of all - I am NOT a mechanical keyboard snob. Up till a few years ago, if I needed a new keyboard, I would just buy whatever cheapo $5-10 keyboard was available, or just use what came w/ the computer. But then a friend showed me his mechanical kb and I liked how smooth it felt yet still had that positive bump instead of the mush that most cheap keyboards are. So I "splurged" on a $30 kb with brown "quiet" tactile switches, and used it up till a couple weeks ago. As for my knowledge about mechanical kbs: I only spent a few minutes searching online about slient keyboards. From that I watched 2-3 youtube videos to learn how to make keyboards quiet (gaskets, foam, etc). I also found a reddit thread comparing about 20 different so-called silent switches, and this Silent Shrimp was highly praised there. And now that I have a set, I can see why! I work at home full time but so does my wife, and we share an office. My previous $30 mechanical kb with generic brown switches was still pretty clicky. Not as loud as ones with blue switches - I've heard those and that's just too loud even for me. I guess I hit keys hard because they were bottoming out and making the click sounds. I tried adding o-rings but it didn't help since the switches on that old kb had a sort of box around the + stem. You could actually hear me typing from several rooms away. I'm really new to custom mechanical keyboards. If I had done a little research beforehand, I wouldn't have bought that other kb since it didn't have hotswap sockets or any kind of noise damping. Lately for some reason it seemed to have gotten louder - it was annoying both of us. So I bought a different kb with hotswap sockets along with gasket mount and layers of sound damping and supposedly quiet linear switches, thinking it'd be a lot quieter, but if it wasn't, at least it was upgradable. It was a TINY bit quieter than the other one but still not great - keys still had a sharp bottoming out sound. Plus I do prefer the tactile feel that brown switches have. Enter the Silent Shrimp. It's like the Schlotzky's slogan - "Silly Name, Serious Sandwich." Or Serious Silence in this case. Since the body of the switch is transparent, you can see the tiny black rubber bits inside to dampen the noise it will make at both the bottom and the top of the keystroke. You still get a very distinct bump about halfway through the keystroke, and the key doesn't actually activate till after that bump happens. So if you accidentally bump a key while moving your hand (ie to/from mouse), you're less likely to get an accidental input. If I had to pick something to complain about, it's that now that it's so quiet, actually pressing the keys sounds slightly scratchy, for lack of a better term. I bought a $5 tube of "Super Lube" as recommended in one of the youtube videos I watched earlier, but haven't had time to pop off all the key caps and apply it. But even if that makes no difference, these are a MASSIVE reduction in the noise level in my office. Yeah, I ended up spending almost $100 on my keyboard (honestly that still feels really expensive to me - see my previous comment about being OK using $5 keyboards) but in this case I think it's worth it. Sometimes, like with these switches, you really do get what you pay for. One other thing: if you use RGB/backlighting on your keyboard, be aware that the body of these switches is light green, and it will change the color of your backlighting. So if you had pure white light, it will become light green. Other colors besides green will change too. But If you're like me and you hate having a distracting light show going on at the bottom of your peripheral vision or just don't need/want backlighting (my keyboard has it, but it weas the first thing I turned off), then the color of the switches won't matter to you - only how quiet they are. And not to repeat myself, but wow, these are QUIET!

Great sound, great bump
I needed a quieter switch for the office and these are perfect. They have a very nice tactile bump, I type a lot at my job and linears misfire for me a lot. The best part is the quiet thock (in epomaker galaxy 100) surprisingly I have gotten a lot of compliments from coworkers since I swapped out the stock switches for these. The only con is that they’re a bit pricey.

Silent Precision: Durock T1 Switches Deliver a Smooth and Tactile Experience
The Durock T1 Silent switches offer an excellent balance of tactility and noise reduction. With a distinct bump that enhances feedback, these switches maintain a satisfying feel while keeping sound levels low. Unlike some silent switches that can feel overly dampened, the rubber dampeners on the T1 Silent soften the impact without compromising the integrity of the tactile response. They feel soft and bouncy, but not mushy. The GMMK Pro keyboard, known for its hollow acoustics even with dampening foam, doesn’t always complement tactile switches. However, the T1 Silent switches significantly enhance the overall feel, making typing far more enjoyable. They’ve even convinced me to keep using the GMMK Pro instead of giving up on it entirely. Given the choice, I’d take high-quality silent switches over a keyboard with a cheap, loud hollow sound any day. The Durock T1 Silent switches are an excellent option for those seeking a quiet yet tactile typing experience. Their muted sound makes them perfect for shared spaces or late-night sessions, while still providing a responsive and satisfying keystroke.

A good budget Silent Switch
These switches surprised me. I never have used silent switches before, and my initial choices (Boba U4s) were out of stock from my usual go-to places. So why not try out something a bit more wallet-friendly? I had these switches in my crosshairs for a while now. And as many videos and as much research I did, I knew the only way to know if I liked them would be to try them for myself. So why would I want silent switches? This is for a work keyboard, I used Linear switches (banana splits) but someone mentioned that it was a little loud-- which for my environment it was pretty noticeable (it is a very quiet work environment), and I am an aggressive typer that always bottoms out my keys. So I decided to look for a good silent switch and I knew I wanted to switch to Tactile switches as linear silents are often perceived as mushy and unsatisfying. What I like about these switches: Let me say I love these stock. It could be used without adding more lube -- it does have a mild ping but the tactility feels great, and you can really feel the bump. The switch itself is more muted than a regular linear switch, but the sound of the keyboard really depends on how you type and on what kind of keyboard you put it in. Many people forget that the switch is not the only factor in sound, the keyboard, keys, and even your desk plays a part in changing the sound signature of your keyboard. To reduce the sound I added some lube, Tribosys 3204 which is a lighter lube than Krytox 2050g. I bag lubed the springs, and lubed the bottom housing along with the stem excluding the leaf and legs of the stem to avoid ruining the tactile bump. Additionally, I skipped filming the switches because housing feels pretty tight already and wouldn't likely gain any benefit from films. It is a heavier switch so it will need some breaking in but to me it feels perfect as is. The lube made the pinging almost non existent and the switches feel better with the lube. Again, use a light coat of lube because too much will turn these switches to feel like a membrane keyboard. The overall sound of the keyboard became quieter as well. Conclusion: For the price they are worth it, they are great stock but can benefit from some light lubing. Edit: I just tested all my switches and found only 1 was faulty. It happens every now and then. Thankfully I have extras.

Silent but not mushy
Switches have a nice amount of 'pushback' and are very nice to type with. However the container it arrived in was broken leading to some pins being bent but still usable
