This is a brilliant little gadget. Very easy and quick to make a filled sandwich using bread 'thins' which can either be eaten as cold sandwiches or toasted sandwiches. The sandwiches (not the gadget!) can be toasted, grilled, dry fried or used in an air fryer to heat. Perfect to make sealed sandwiches for packed lunches. Has it's own facebook page with many recipes, tips and hints on uses. Can use pastry to make small pie parcels, or other types of bread. Easy to use and clean, crimps the edges to make a 'parcel' and by using a toaster or dry fry etc for toasted sandwiches, no messy items to wash up. Highly recommend.

Great if you plan to use it a lot. I jumped on the band wagon with everyone else.But quality is great and I have had some good success with it value yes and easy to use and clean definitely

Great Item.... Game Changer...

I have read reviews where users have complained that their Crimpit has melted when they put it into their air fry machine and of course, it would because it is not meant to go inside an air fryer or toaster or any other cooking device. Read the instructions and you find that this Crimpit is designed to create a sealed parcel of two slices of bread enclosing some filling ready to be taken out of the Crimpit and put into the toaster or air fryer for cooking. It does that well. I have been using bread thins from a well-known producer of all things bakery bought from my local supermarket. No crusts and as the name says not such a thick cut. I have not done anything complicated yet, just cheese and sweet pickle but the result has been most satisfying with the toaster giving faster results. A toasted sandwich-maker could enable you to use standard bread loaf and deep fill but it takes up more space and is a nightmare to store and clean. The crimping does rely on a bit of brute force as you press down on your creation to make the seal and it is important you make the seal form well or you will have melted ingredients spilling out into your cooking device. If that is a toaster, that could be messy. The Crimpit is a great, simple idea that works amazingly well.

I made a ham, cheese and tomato sandwich with a slim bread roll ('Slimster') this evening, My second attempt. Yesterday I did the same, and used my Ninja food to airfry art for 5 mins at 200DegC. It was toasted on the outside and still a bit cold in the inside. Today, I repeated the recipe. I should note that the sandwich was about 50% too thick for the Crimp-IT, so it didn't crimp, or close down properly but that was ok. I was using it to hold the thing together. So I popped it into the same air fryer for 7 minutes this time. Imagine my surprise when I saw that the yellow top of the Crimp-It was bubbling like cheese under a grill? Ans the black bottom part was softened and a bot crumpled on the air fryer bottom part. So is it not suitable for an airfryer then? Only suitable for a 3 minute blast of heat in a toaster? Hmmm. I don't think it will get a third use now it's broken. Caveat emporium. The toastie was nice though.

I don’t know why some reviewers say gluten free bread doesn’t work. I tried the Warburtons gluten free thins (with banana and nutella), 5-10 min in the airfryer (yes of course without the actual plastic Crimpit as it would melt). Yum. Sealed well at the edges too. I don’t keep breads in the fridge which might make the difference here? I also made my kid’s sandwiches (not toasted) today as she always leaves her crusts. I made these with our regular sliced half/half factory bread. A bit of ham with wiped cucumber (with kitchen roll to dry some of the juice off to stop sogginess) and another one with ham and a bit of lettuce. Crimped in seconds and the crusts came right off. (I might start collecting those in the freezer to make breadcrumbs now that I am dealing with clean crusts lol). I pressed the bread a bit flat with a spoon first to make it thinner which took all of a second. Neat little pocket of sandwich which then slotted nicely in those reusable silicone ziplock food pouches. Eco points for mum on two counts! (Except of course for buying a plastic gadget in the first place but not throwing crusts out every day and not using foil or plastic wrap should hopefully all help over time). We’ll see if she likes the taste but I am looking forward to receiving her lunchbag without the usual nibbled crusts today! All in all highly recommended for mums, and people who are bored of gluten free sandwiches. I agree the price is very high for a bit of plastic but I guess that’s what you get if you buy the latest gadget craze. It’s very sturdy but could/should be half the price.

What a great little invention the CRIMPIT is. Very easy to use.1, buy sandwich thins2, put one slice of the sandwich thin in the black part of the CRIMPIT3, add fillings of choice.. don't overfill4, place other piece of sandwich thin on top of filled bottom thin5, place yellow CRIMPIT part on top of sandwich creation6, press down on yellow CRIMPIT 'lid' to seal the sandwich thin together7, take off yellow CRIMPIT 'lid'8, sandwich thin creation is ready to remove from bottom black part of CRIMPIT , I find a fork to gently prise it out helps as the sandwich thin can get pressed in and slightly stuck.9, once sandwich thin is removed from CRIMPIT then you put the SANDWICH ONLY! into the toaster or airfryer, NEVER put the actual CRIMPIT into the toaster or airfryer etc..10, toast or airfry for desired time, usually 2-3 minutes in a toaster, airfyer timings not sure as I only use mine in the toaster.11, if still unsure, re read steps 1-10 and also the enclosed instructions with your CRIMPET12, DO NOT PUT THE ACTUAL CRIMPIT IN THE TOASTER OR AIRFRYER. Melted plastic is not an optional topping or a side order with your sandwich.Hopefully this review is helpful to someone as I've read countless reviews where people are putting the whole thing..sandwich thins, fillings and the CRIMPIT into the toaster !
