Excellent USA Made Turner. Please Offer Solid Version!!!
I have three of these and love them. The shape, angle, and size is just perfect. It's also made in the USA and better quality than a similar Miu France one that I own, which I later found out was made in China. "France" is just part of the brand name... Hahaha. I first purchased one from William Sonoma. Then got two more from Amazon. Can't tell them apart.I really wished these were available in a non-slotted/solid version because I cook exclusively with cast iron, carbon steel, and stainless steel cookware and use these turners for everything. But there are some foods that just work better with a solid turner than slotted ones. I will keep purchasing this brand and recommend to others. And I will keep my fingers crossed that they will offer a solid version in the near future.2 things to be aware of:1. This is a metal turner/spatula. Metal spatulas are not for nonstick, ceramic, coated, or delicate surfaces. Metal spatulas will irreparably damage those surfaces. I won't even use this on a ceramic coated cast iron. Please choose wood, nylon, silicone utensils if you own pots and pans like that.2. These come in wood and a composite handles. I got the composite, which is like nylon, because I like the durability and the fact that I can put them through the dishwasher. You have to take care of wood handles to make them last. Nylon handles are practically indestructible except they are susceptible to heat. The nylon handles CANNOT be leaned on the side of a hot pan, not even for a quick second or it will completely melt. I say this because I melted one accidentally :( My own fault.Don't say you weren't warned...Other than that, enjoy spatulating and flipping your food like a pro!

Works great!
This has become the turner I use most often. The generous size makes it easier to flip pancakes and such. The thinner blade and tapered leading edge let it slide more easily under the item being lifted, and the slots help keep the item from slipping off while being transferred from pan to plate. I found that I wanted a little more knuckle room, so I bent the blade a few degrees where it joins the handle, but this is a personal preference and not a shortcoming of the turner. The price seemed to be higher than some similar turners, but a good tool just feels good when you use it, and it should last a lifetime, so to me it is worth the cost.

Great design, but poor fit and finish, and appears not to be authentic LamsonSharp
As other reviewers have noted, the turner I received did not appear to be made by LamsonSharp. Unlike the photo accompanying the Amazon product description and on LamsonSharp's own website, this turner (at least the one sent to me) has no LamsonSharp stamp on the blade or anywhere else on the turner. It simply is stamped 'High Carbon Stainless Steel Made in USA" on the base of the blade near the handle, where the LamsonSharp logo typically appears (see attached photo). There is a beaten-up, faded LamsonSharp label stuck on the edge of the blade, but it's questionable where that came from. The fit and finish is shabby, with the tang protruding sharply from the handle in places, rough (and in some spots, sharp) edges along the tang, and dings on the rivets. On the blade itself, there are tiny pointy burrs at the base of each slot, almost like it wasn't stamped properly - the burrs clearly appear to be a production defect as they are identical and consistent. There are scratches in a number of places, on both the blade and the handle. I included a few photos to show some of the fit and finish issues, though they're not coming through super clearly due to camera/lighting challenges,I'm giving the product 2 stars instead of only 1, because the design of the turner itself (which appears to mirror the original LamsonSharp one) looks terrific - the blade strikes the perfect balance between thinness, flexibility, and sturdiness, and the full tang is great. Also, I'm concerned this might be a supplier issue - i.e., this rating does NOT reflect on the original LamsonSharp, which I hate to penalize given I appear to have gotten one made by another company. As you'll see from one of the photos, while this was supposed to be a direct Amazon purchase, the sticker on the turner indicated it was from another retailer (this might be another instance of inventory commingling, with the resulting erosion of product accountability). The irony is that I intentionally purchased direct from Amazon (vs. 'third party seller... fulfilled by Amazon') due to prior reviews cautioning against certain third-party stock.I normally wouldn't base a product rating on a seller issue. But it seems from a number of recent reviews and from the Q&A section that the product that is generally going out under this listing (at least at the time of this review) is similar to the one I got, so I'm rating the product based on what customers are most likely to get, not the product as marketed. As much as I love Amazon, I do plan to get this turner elsewhere, where I can be assured it's authentic. Currently (as of 3/16), it's available direct from LamsonSharp for a comparable price.

Best fish spatula
This fish spatula really gets under food quite easily because it is flexible. It also will not bend so much that you are in danger of something falling off. I have made 3/4 pound burgers on the grill and it easily and securely turns them and removes them from the grill. As for fish, it gets under salmon, talapia and cod keeping anything you put on the surface of the fish with the fish and not in the pan or on the grill. What more can you ask? It wasn't the cheapest, but it has the capabilities of much more expensive products.

Amazing Tool
From the steel, to the handle, you can tell immediately how high quality it is. The blade tip is ground down a bit to make it even thinner. I originally wanted to buy the ATK winner but couldn’t bring myself to paying over $50.00. The blade doesn’t seem to have the same degree of curve, but it does have one. I am very pleased with itUpdate - I originally stated that the blade tip was ground down a bit to make it thinner. This feature has managed to scratch up my carbon steel pan. Im going to try to round off sharpness with steel wool

Excellent turner, for cast-iron skillet use
For frying fish in a cast-iron skillet, I like the thinness of the working edge of this turner. It gets under everything, and scrapes away anything that may adhere to the surface. Mine is laser-etched with the wording, "LamsonSharp, Shelburne Falls, MA, USA, High-Carbon Stainless Steel." The craftsmanship is superb. I bought it in 2006, and it is still in excellent condition.

Works for grilled salmon!
Did a better job taking salmon directly off the BBQ grill than a flat metal spatula. But not a great job.

Solid turner for fish
The turner is robust but should not be used on non-stick surfaces. Rather expensive for what it is.

LamsonSharp A+ egg/multipurpose flipper
Purchased this recently after some browsing on amazon at turner/flippers I'd thought would be practical for general purpose use. Eggs were what I wanted it for initially and a small cast iron pan which is just large enough to cook an egg for toast is what I wanted it for. It sounds like I could have chosen any number of turners for the job but I wanted something built well, of good material (like the pan), and narrow enough to be able to slip under the edge of the egg in the outermost circumference of the bottom of the pan. Many other "fish turner's" look nearly identical to this one in the pictures, I knew it would do what I wanted and its apparent craftsmanship is excellent, so I spent the extra to buy it and don't regret it. Looking forward to cooking many big omelets, as well as cracking extra yolks to do some double-yolk over-easy eggs in the little cast pan as well as countless other tasks in the pan and out on the grill in the spring.

Useful
My husband has been eyeing this baby for quite sometime. I decided to get it for him for his birthday and Oh Boy was he happy. I works really well and worth the cost. Good quality kitchen tools are a must because they last long if you take care of them and you are not wasting money buying and replacing cheap products.
