Q: Would you recommend the harder or the soft wheels for cruising with a little downhill?

Hi Mark, Thank you for your interest with Fireball Beast Wheels. Harder wheels are going to slide easier, have a faster roll speed, and ride slightly harder. Softer wheels are going to ride softer, have a very slightly slower roll speed, and have a bit more grip. If you want to mostly cruise, we would recommend going softer. However, both wheels will cruise well. It is just getting that extra 10-20% performance difference depending on your ride preferences. I hope this helps! They should be ok. If they rub you can always put a spacer under the truck.
