Fantastic wax for furniture or those looking for an alternative ...
Fantastic wax for furniture or those looking for an alternative to the Popular Chalk paint waxes. Very soft and easy to work with. Dries fast and durable. Colored waxes are just as amazing especially for the price!!

Great product!
I used this wax over some decorative milk painting. It is very easy to use, goes on easily. It does not yellow, and is virtually invisible. It does help to put a nice sheen on the finished piece, but is not glossy at all. It truly lets the character of the item show, not changing the original look.I highly recommend this product!

Great wax
I loved the softness of the wax for application and that it was quick drying. Polishing was quick and easy and the piece looks great. I applied it over chalk green paint. Great

Shipping package needs work..product excellent
I've used this product on all my chalk paint projects. Works wonderfully! My only complaint would be the shipping method. If you know you're shipping to the south in the summer, product should be in a plastic bag to prevent leakage. When I got my box, it was 100 degrees out, product was liquid and leaked all over when I opened the box. Once it solidified, it was like new again.

Very easy to apply
I was using Annie Sloan clear, dark, and black waxes for the last 9 months. I struggled with them because my house is very arid. I switched to Fiddes and Sons and I love it. I am not looking for a streak free finish because I want some texture in my project (and that is why I use chalk paint). The Fiddes goes on so smoothly and I watched a You Tube video that showed it being put on and rubbed off immediately. This technique worked well for me and gave me a great satin finish. My latest project is a very light creamy white hutch. When I put the light wax on, it deepened the color of the paint, just a bit, which is what I wanted. The clear wax would also deepen the color. I will certainly be buying more of this product.

Save Your Money
I really wanted to love this product, but was sadly disappointed! I have been painting furniture for years, and been using Minwax on my furniture as a top coat. Fiddes & Sons was recommended to me by other professional furniture painters, like myself. So I decided to spend a little extra money to try it out and see if it was worth it. As soon as I received this in the mail I decided to use it over a coffee table that had been painted with white chalk paint. I read the directions that say to apply with a cloth and lightly remove with a clean cloth. Then allow to dry for 3 minutes and buff. I quickly got to work. The first problem was that there were little bits of rust in the container that got ALL OVER my white painted furniture. I had to pick them out and quickly go back over them with a new clean cloth because the cloth I originally used got the rust bits all over it. Thankfully, I was able to salvage the area and not have to repaint the piece, but it could have been a disaster. I had to then go through the container and try to scoop out some of the wax that had none of the rust pieces in it to finish the table. Once I was able to get enough I finished the piece quickly and did like the finish that it had. With all of that said here are some pros and cons:PROS- Easy to apply- Can work with it fast, so you can finish your pieces quickly- Nice semi-matte finishCONS- The metal container rusted and basically ruined the wax so I was able to salvage some but not all- It still has some odor, it's marketed as a Low Aromatic product but it was still very strong- I found it difficult to create a streak free finish after buffing, with Minwax this is never a problem.- It's priceyOverall, I'll probably not use this product and I don't recommend using it on your painted furniture. I'll probably just go with Minxwax next time and save myself the extra $10 bucks!

Wax on, buff off, and enjoy
I used this wax over Annie Sloan paint and it worked beautifully for me. It does have an odor but it dissipates quickly. The wax is soft like cold Crisco. My technique is a brush on and buff off with a t-shirt rag within moments of application. I have not experienced smearing or stickiness. I think the key is to apply sparingly with the brush. It has been well over a month since I applied the wax to my dresser and I have very happy with the finish. Today, I decided to wax a very dry looking teak wood serving cart. Love the richness of the wood and the healthy sheen. Can't believe I didn't do this sooner.
