A very efficient kettle that brings water to the boil quickly. Little blue lights under the handle usefully inform you when it is connected, and with its unusual and modern design the kettle would look good in any kitchen.

I have been hunting around for a new kettle as I wanted a black one to go with my new kitchen aesthetic. Russell Hobbs is a good brand and I was tempted by their Brontë design that’s all over social media but the price was quite inflated and the reviews were a bit mixed. I was also worried that the ribbed pattern would be difficult to keep clean if there were any splashes on the kettle. I’m so glad I went for this one because I’ve personally feel the quality is better. I love the design on the kettle, it catches the light and it looks very high-end. The gold base and the accents on the kettle look beautiful although personally I would’ve preferred silver but it still looks gorgeous. The lid is easy to open with one hand making it easy to fill without wrestling with the lid. The boil is quick and is an average noise. I wouldn’t say that it was particularly quiet or loud. A kettle boiling is a kettle boiling in my opinion. There are little red markers inside the kettle so that you can easily fill it to 1, 2 or 3 cup when looking inside the kettle instead of trying to look at the scale on the outside. One big plus for me is even pouring from a full to the brim kettle, there’s no spill. My previous kettle seemed to leak from the spout if the kettle was full and would run down the kettle where is this has a beautiful pour. In the video I have recorded it boiling completely full because you need to boil an empty it twice when you first use it and even absolutely full to the brim with water the boil was controlled, wasn’t messy or splattering everywhere and the poor from the kettle was ideal. I honestly think this kettle is better than some of the more expensive Russell Hobbs ones. It has more than enough water capacity to hold 4/5 cups of tea and looks beautiful on the worktop.

It seems to take a long while to switch off, when full which it does eventually. Otherwise great kettle which boils large quantities rapidly. Nice looking kettle too!

Bought this on Prime day to replace my leaky chrome kettle and couldn't be happier. It's light, stylish, a great colour and most importantly - it's fast to boil. Haven't timed it for 1 cup to see whether the 43 seconds states in the box is accurate but it is definitely quick. 2 minutes for 3 or 4 cups worth and even when full it's pretty quick. It's easy to fill and the lid feels solid. Inside it has little guides for 1, 2 and 3 (small) cups of water as the water level is below the visible gauge on the side. It's also not overly noisy although no kettle is silent. The blue light gives a visual indicator that the kettle is on / finished and though it might appear to flicker on the video, it is a solid blue light. Overall very happy with this and would definitely recommend.

After two years of daily use, the Russell Hobbs Groove has proven to be a surprisingly durable "budget" alternative. The Groove’s simpler mechanical design has kept it reliable for the long haul, whereas my more expensive Ninja found it's way into the bin as it's electric base had no end of issues. Final Verdict: If you’re tired of "smart" kettles breaking, the Groove is a stylish, "dumb" kettle that actually goes the distance.

I was looking for a kettle that would be visually compatible with my white and cream kitchen and this one certainly fit the bill cosmetically. On a functional level, though, I am very pleasantly surprised with just how good this kettle is. It boils the water very quickly and does so quietly - which while not something I was specifically looking for, is certainly nice. Also, it pours beautifully, which is very convenient. Apart from the fact that I get very little water spillage on the kitchen worktop, I tend to use powder coffee creamers like coffee mate - I can lift the kettle fairly high and direct the stream of water accurately into the mug which means I don’t have to stir my coffee. It’s probably not a big deal, but I enjoy the convenience… Thirdly, many of the kettles we looked at had completely detachable lids. I like the fact that on this one the top ‘hinges’ open and does so smoothly and quietly. The lid opening button seems to be nice and robust. (I guess if you live in an area with very hard water, then a completely detachable lid might be convenient for the purposes of cleaning). Finally, this kettle is very easy to replace accurately on its ‘charging stand’. With my previous kettle it was sometimes quite a job to accurately position the kettle so that it sits properly on its stand. And if there was a lot of water in it and it was heavy, it could be a real nuisance. Examining the electrical part of the stand of this kettle (pic attached), I see that the edges are rounded, which makes the kettle easy to replace on the stand. It sort of centres automatically with very little effort required from me if that makes sense. Obviously, some extra thought has gone into this design. I didn’t particularly care for the water level indicator which is “in line“ with the handle, so it takes some effort to look and see how much water is in it. There again my previous kettle was transparent glass so it isn’t really a fair comparison. To go with the kettle colour I would’ve preferred a red or amber LED light. The blue one is functional if not as pretty… Amazon Prime’s next day delivery was perfect. All things considered therefore, I would recommend this kettle very highly.
