Solid and Sturdy, Does What It Should
I bought a plastic hose splitter. It leaked. I bought another plastic hose splitter. It leaked, too. So I said to myself, "This time, I'm going to buy a metal hose splitter."This is the one I bought. I've had it a couple of months now, and it hasn't leaked. It feels satisfyingly solid. It works fine. I mean, a hose splitter isn't a complicated piece of machinery, there shouldn't be any problems with it, but as I've found out, that isn't always the case.One minor criticism: When I first installed it, the individual (left and right) volume switches were stuck in place. I unstuck them by tapping them gently with a hammer. Since then, they turn just as they should.I only wish this wasn't made in China.

Hard to turn levers
Like the product; have to use pliers to turn plastic levers .. could be because they’re new.

Pretty good item
This is as shown, but the small levers to turn each side on and off are so small as to be difficult to turn. Certainly not for someone with arthritis.

Started leaking in less than 3 months. Edit: Updated with resolution
I bought this valve, knowing it was more expensive than others. I really hoped that it would be durable and last a long time. After 2-1/2 months, I noticed it was leaking considerable amounts of water out of the left valve (not the hose connection). I looked into contacting the seller and it was not an easy process, so I gave up rather quickly. It should have been a good valve, but it wasn't for me. Maybe they will see this review and get in touch with me. Edit: the manufacturer stood behind the product and refunded the purchase. I could not ask for more. Parts sometime fail, customer service should not and did not in this case.

Excellent brass unit for 1/2 the price of plastic

Awfully disappointing
I bought this in July but couldn't install it on my rain barrel until August so it past my return period. I used this with my rain barrels. After the barrels filled it was leaking from the main connector. I replaced the rubber gasket and I tightened it as tight as it could and it would still leak. I added plumbing tape and it would still leak. I replaced it recently with new hose splitter from a different seller and it hasn't leaked since. The valves were also larger and easier to turn. I wish I bought the other splitter first but this splitter was the more expensive choice and had more reviews so I assumed it would be a better higher quality product but was really disappointed.
