Best coverage available. He wears them so worth higher price.
Here’s why these Chaps are 5 Star in my view. We live in a very wooded area with large and larger lots not far from a wildlife-protected state park with walking and hiking trails, a lake and a dam. The backs of the lots between us and the park are precipitously steep, wooded hillsides and the woods slope down into the back acre of our lot. My husband relishes this because he is not only a lawn guy, but also a ground-cover, undergrowth, briar and wood-cutting enthusiast. He has recently acquired some irresistibly priced toys/tools. These bargains have inspired him to extend his mild obsession within our own property and beyond to grateful neighbors with chainsaw needs, and on his own initiative along the woods bordering our street despite our having a regular municipal chipper crew. To complete this preamble to my review, I need to add that he has on a number of occasions knocked on the window to show me some big writhing snake he’s holding up by its neck, knowing it totally creeps me out. He always says they are harmless, but we do have copperheads and other deadly reptiles in our vicinity. So now you should appreciate why I am giving these chaps 5 stars: I am expecting them to save him from snakes ans thorns. They are the best I have found to give him serious protection. The fabric is sturdy, they are extremely well made, and they should outlast even a much younger (hypothetical) person, but none of that would matter but for the fact, which is amazing to him and to me, that he will actually wear them!!!!! The key to this 5-explanation point miracle seems to be that each hip-high leg is independent of the other. [Note: Chaps might be the origin of why a person is said to wear “pants” or “a pair of pants” for a garment covering two legs separately and the lower torso, but only “a shirt” for a garment covering two arms separately and the upper torso.] These chaps fit comfortably even over baggy jeans, they aren’t too hot even in sweltering weather, and probably the most important, though he’d never say so, is that they don’t make him look like a dork. 🙄

works well as intended.
these work well, however they are a little difficult to walk in. Main thing is they are there to protect you from snake bites!

Dang awkward at first, but pretty great once you get to work
I hope to never be a snake tester with these gaiters. I'm 5'8" tall and about 150 pounds, and I'm a woman, and let me tell you, you're gonna look ridiculous wearing them. You know how when you put a new harness or shoes on a dog and the dog just stands there, shaking one leg and then the other leg and not moving much? That's how you're gonna feel at first, but once you get your routine down on how to get them on, and you get used to the belt attachment pieces, and then you get to work, you'll find yourself almost forgetting you're wearing them. I bought them for heavy work in brush and poison oak. The uppers are not snake proof, so don't get comfy kneeling down. And the bottom sections you need to strap on tightly to close the openings. Have thigh covers is really helpful for poison oak. You don't want even a drop of that stuff on your clothes, or you'll get it everywhere. But you're gonna need a routine for removing them, too. This is how you keep yourself protected from a serious rash. I like these gaiters, but I don't love them. I don't love them because I doubt there are any out there I'd love wearing. They're all probably kinda awkward. They're worth the effort. Once you're done wearing them, they fold up nicely and tuck inside a five gallon bucket for next time.

Snake test has not happened yet but trust product .
Great product for the money. Fits well and give much protection for going through heavy bush and briars.

Good but flawed design
Loved them but the hook(s) that loop through your belt and then connect to hold them up comes loose when bending up and down. They don’t snap like the ones on the legs. They have what I would refer to as an S Loop that just slides through instead of clicking in. When you bend up and down and loosen them from your movement, they slide out. Resending this because I’ve since went back and looked in. The picture clearly shows that they’re supposed to have the same snaps on them that the legs do where they snap in unless you press on both sides they won’t come out of there. Every time I looked down, they were undone.
