Value for money
I'm a competitive fisherman and my boat is a good friend to me, and every rain and snow season, water builds up on the boat cover, which annoys me. I purchased several boat cover struts to protect my boat, but none of them served my purpose. When it rains or snows, either the pole is not strong enough to be crushed, or the base is too small and the whole pole slips. In the end I had to clean the cabin. It didn't solve my problem until I bought this SINOBELL's boat hood support rod. The foldable base is 23 inches wide when unfolded and has non-slip silicone on the bottom, which makes the pole very stable, very good design. The aluminum alloy pole has a double lock. After I tested it with full pressure, the pole did not shrink, and it always remained at my fixed height. After a rainy night last night, the boat cover didn't form water, which made me very happy! I will buy 2 more for my pontoon boat, very good product!

Buy the straps to tie and support
I was going to wait until winter to review but have what I think is helpful information. One of my supports, out of three, already has a broken leg. These blow over easily in wind even with the cover tight. Buy the extra straps to hold them upright. Tighten the support clamps as tight as possible. I have experienced collapse of uprights in rainy situations. We'll see how they hold up this winter. My boat is 22 ft long and I use three supports. We can get 6 inches of snow maybe once a year.

Works well
I originally bought another version of one of these which I returned because it didn't work very well. But this one works extremely well. The 2 positve features are-1. The quick deployment of the sections and quick lock in-place feature. No screwing together sections.2. The top mushroom head securely fastens to the pole. No place-on-yop pieces that easily fall off..Negatives-1. Cost- way over priced for what it is.2. Tripod legs sit flat on the ground providing less stability than ones that are angled like typical tripod legs.

This does not come with straps
Usually this type of system will come with straps. The overall construction is solid but the bottom tripod bows up slightly making it quite wobbly. I have gotten better ones for less. This is not a complete system. Just the pole

Nice design, works well, and can be used for other purposes
I purchased this for a small dingy boat that has a cover, but no internal support mechanism. While there are different brands/versions of this product, I like this particular one because the base appeared to have a nicer design. Indeed, it is very stable standing on its own without any support straps, due to the wide spread of the legs. In fact, I have also used this as a way of holding up an old quilt over the top of flower pots on my porch when an unseasonal freeze hits, as they often do where I live. I would recommend this item, but note that I have not explored (and do not intend to) the feature that allows you to poke a hole in your boat cover and mount this support pole through that hole. That feature does not appeal to me, and seems unnecessary for my use.

Worth purchasing
I received the base improved version。All in all, this is a good quality product and can meet my requirements. I followed the instructions to cut a hole in the cover and installed the product, which helped me get through a hurricane with my boat unscathed and holding up well. I started out with just one support pole. We have a pontoon boat at home, and I found that I needed four support poles to better support the cover and protect my boat. So I ordered another 3 one.Well made!

Great extension tube clamps, but very small and cheap top cap
Overall, this Support pole is pretty good. The 3 clamps that hold the extension tubes are very strong. That's the main reason I purchased this particular pole. Other support poles I've tried have the rotating tubes to lock them in position and they've been weak holding their position. But these clamp type locks are rock solid and hold under compression. Unfortunately, the tubes are capped off by a mushroom cap that is too small and VERY CHEAP plastic that breaks under any form of load. Mine broke after one night! I managed to epoxy the pieces back together and am hoping it will hold with some good quality epoxy. But I'll likely have to make my own cap out of wood or some other material that will hold up better. The size of that cap should really be larger to spread out the load to the cover as well. But if it were any larger with this cheap material, it would have cracked even sooner with the higher bearing load from the cover. VERY happy with the poles, but this really needs a better material on the top cap.

Works great.
This is just what I needed for my cover. Although I should have bought two as I had to get another one for the front of my boat cover. Otherwise a great value and works as advertised
