The All-American Muscle Car: The Rise, Fall and Resurrection of Detroit's Greatest Performance Cars - Revised & Updated

These are all cars I grew up with. I graduated from high school in 1969. My first car was a 1969 GTO. After that I bought a 1970 442. Then I got my first 1969 Corvette of many. Then came a Chevelle.I remember looking at a 1967 corvette but I saw it was repaired from an accident and declined to buy it. The guy said look at what I have in the garage. I went inside his garage and there sat a real 1967 L88 Corvette. It wasn't for sale but there it was.I also found a 1969 L88 corvette, yellow, near Madison, Wisconsin. The guy wanted $5800 for it. I thought that was too much and he wouldn't negotiate so I declined.I could have bought a 68 Camaro with a 427 dropped in it for $2800. Those were the days and this book brought back all those memories. I am 70 years old and I am not old while I can still slip inside my corvette and go for a ride with the top down.I have quite an extensive collection of muscle car and Corvette books which I enjoy looking at. One of the Christmas trees we put up is all car ornaments I have collected over the last 40 years. LIFE IS GOOD

Covers some of the performance oriented dealerships that sold muscle cars and some cars from those dealerships. This book doesn't have as much detail on the actual muscle cars as other books. For the price it's OK.

This was a gift. The feedback that I received was that it was an excellent read, from a guy whom lived through the glory days of the muscle car era. From what I was told, it is a worthy book.

Overall the book is pretty to look at but horribly focused on just a few of the great marques of the era to the exclusion of many, many vintage and modern cars that deserve recognition and celebration.I know no book can cover every car everyone loves, but there are sooooo many great cars not even mentioned in this book that it is rather inexcusable for any book claiming to champion the muscle car eras old and new.

Great read for the muscle car enthusiast

This Is an excellent book on the entire muscle car period and even includes AMC vehicles.
