Outstanding value for money
Can't comment on durability. Only comparing to my other older chisels. These are the best I ever owned. Grinding finish is on par with my Blue-Marpels-Sheffield 6pc set from 1994. The side bevel at the tip is the same too, but Marpels then tapers thicker towards the shank, whereas these do not, and are thus better suited for fine work. Bottom flatness is about the same too. These balance in my hand the same as the Marples do. Price, corrected for 30Y inflation, is the same too as the old blue-UK-Sheffield-Marples. So I would say these are a direct replacement, and a slight upgrade due to non-tapering bevel and the nice (and grippy) wooden handles (and unlike Marples handles, these get smaller for the smaller size chisels which is a plus).Compared to my year 2005 set of blue handle Irwin, these are much thinner and much finer ground. But twice as expensive.Compared to my black handle Stanley set from 2012, these are very much thinner and very much finer ground, hugely better but also twice the price even if corrected for inflation.I highly recommend this Narex premium chisels, but of course can't comment yet on durability and steel quality. That I will only know in 5 or 10 years.
