Actually 1:12 scale. Most Cons from reviews pre mid-'23 no longer apply after excellent upgrades!
This Hosim X07 has to be the best value RC you can buy, absolutely amazing price/quality/feature balance, you won't have to buy anything else if you just want a decent quality fun RC to goof around with occasionally without going too deep into the hobby. But truly hobby class (vs. "toy") for those more advanced. Hosim even provides full one year warranty and local support in each major continent/US contact phone support, which is really nice in this price range. (I specifically mention X07 as the actual model number since it is not mentioned in the listing and you will need to know this to order parts) It's important to note that this is a case where the seller should have done whole new listings each time they upgraded it over the years instead of just using the same listing. It has been upgraded 3-4x times, I believe, in the last 4 years the original model came out, so reviews older than mid '23 have many cons that no longer apply. This thing has changed far too much for older reviews to be accurate any more. So many parts have been upgraded over the years, these now have better shocks, steering servo, and many plastic steering parts were upgraded to metal, etc, this is a company that listens to feedback/reviews and addresses issues with upgrades. For the price point (~150-160 with constant "coupons" offered) this is an amazing value! It is assembled extremely well with thread locker on almost every screw and has wheel nuts that don't come loose on their own over time like most in this price range and lower. Sure, you absolutely can spend 2-3x as much for really awesome stuff, but this thing is straight up the most well-built, fast and capable RC you can get in the price range. You can turn the throttle way down for kids or rock crawling too, it's an awesome buy! (End basic review) Advanced issues/addressing prior review cons: I find the throttle control, at least in the current version, to be excellent! You can turn it way down and you can rock crawl or let younger children use it and it's not just On/Off as someone mentioned, there is full range of speed variety within the throttle trigger travel too. When the throttle trim is cranked, you need to take off gradually or it will flip itself on its back even with the wheelie bar. There is no automatic and non-adjustable drag brake (where braking kicks in just releasing the throttle) on this (X07) unlike its truck shell brother model, the X08. Instead, it free wheels releasing the trigger and instead I LOVE how this has a fully adjustable manual braking level (You brake with this by quickly reversing the throttle trigger) with the middle trim knob. All the way left is full braking and twisting to the right uses progressively less braking force. On a very long flat carpeted hallway at work with perfect traction, if I go full speed then reverse the trigger quickly, it brakes so hard it does a front flip! So, if mostly going really fast on dry surfaces you might want to add less braking, and use more for courses with lots of turns, etc. Even the provided batteries are quite good for "stock" and while it is 3S/11.1v battery capable, those will wear out the gear boxes and a number of other parts FAR more quickly, when 2S/7.4v batteries provide plenty of power. As a "compromise", I got a 7.6v (slightly higher voltage), 100c (higher discharge) battery and since the controller can even handle 11.1v, it handles this one easily, somewhat surprisingly it clearly has about 10-15% more torque and top speed, which seems to be the perfect balance of power for this size/level of vehicle instead of jumping all the way up to a parts shredding 3S battery. They can be found here by searching "2S 7.6V 100c 6000mAh Shorty 4mm Deans RC battery" and going with the Hoovo or Zeee brand, whichever is on coupon cheapest, they are both good for the money. Could be considered a minor con, there are NO aftermarket batteries that are the same dimensions as or fit as stock, but at least all "shorty" batteries do match the proper length, are similar to or better in capacity than stock, and are simply mounted on their side in the battery tray with zero issue using the extra velcro straps provided. As I mentions in the title, this is basically 1:12 scale in overall dimensions, and from what I understand uses mostly but not all 1:10 parts. So to guarantee they will fit, you pretty much have use the specific replacement parts for this model or it's brother models: the X08 and in another brand, XLF X03A Max to be 100% certain they will fit. The parts offered on the Hosim web site are fairly overpriced but do offer free and fast shipping at least. Just remember if you have time you can web search around by "Hosim X07 parts" or XLF X03A Max", etc and find the balance of price, shipping cost/speed etc that works for you. Hope this has helped the beginners and more knowledgeable alike! Like you reading this, I bought this right here for myself and wasn't given reimbursement or anything for this review. This is all me genuinely impressed with this for the money and bored at work to have the time to write this up! :)

Better car than the price indicates
I bought this for my 8 year old (a responsible 8 year old) to be able to play with while I run my high end RC trail truck. This is his first RC truck and I wanted something that I could afford to replace if it got tore up but there doesn't seem to be any need for that. The car is quick and has many replaceable and repairable parts that would lend itself to a more expensive model. I love the fact the radio (hand controller) has adjustable trim knobs that allow me to dial back the top speed and adjust the steering, again feeling like a much costlier unit. Battery: There are 2 included batteries with a USB A compatible charging cord.. Each battery lasts about 20 min of hard wide open running which is plenty for him . It might be a little short for someone who wants to run with higher end trail trucks but as a short range beater they are fine. Each battery has LED charge indicators which are nice . Charging takes 2 hours per battery on a 2.1a USB port. The Bad: The battery hold down bracket is not well constructed at the hinge. I reinforced the hinge with a little bit of JB weld after the plastic failed twice. Full disclosure, I did not contact the manufacturer about this as it was pretty easy for me to just take care of so I don't know what they would say about it. The gears are quite noisy. I need to tear apart the gearsets and see if they need additional lube (which honestly is common to even the higher end units). The good: My boy loves it, and it has held up to 2 months of regular use and even minor abuse. He doesn't intentionally try to tear it up but it hits things, flips of things and bounces back every time. The radio feels great and seems to have a good range. All in all this is a great little car especially if you can grab it on sale like I did!

Lots of fun especially for the price!
I bought this thinking it might be fun, I knew very little about RC cars I just saw a video of this thing and ordered it because it goes fast and it had an affordable price (good logic right?). I love being able to run two batteries in it so I don't have to stop and change them and the run time is great. This car is almost too fast for its size but it handles great and blasts through my lawn wheelies, jumps, and takes a beating. I suggest running it at half power until you are used to it. I did manage to break the spoiler on a bad tumble at full speed but the car still runs great. The best part is all the parts appear to be available and the spoiler is a $10 fix! (It's on its way) which means you can likely keep this car going for a very long time. So unless you want to spend a lot more money, I highly recommend this Hosim 1:16 brushless ton of fun on four wheels! It puts a smile on my face every time I drive it. One of these days I will paint the extra body and try out the extra set of sand paddle tires all of which came in the box!

Best 1/10 Budget Basher Hands Down!
What a car!! I will start with, that I own a small Rc shop specializing in inexpensive off brand Rc cars. Something good but at a better price than the big names. If I could sell these I would in a second. Although my first one was broke out of the box, I opted for an exchange as I had seen so many great videos on it. Well now it’s warm and I’ve been able to run a handful of batteries through it I can give an honest review. Car is fast, light, back flips pretty good. Good on a track, and short of the body (recommend gorilla taping the inside for longevity) I’m impressed by the punishment I’ve put it through. If it’s under $200, but it. There is often coupons. Think I got mine for around $150

DOA | Attempted to contact support but Hosim does not respond
I received a DOA device. I did my own investigation and bought replacement parts to get it up and running since I emailed Hosim and had no response from them. After I got it up and running, I realized that one of the front arms was broken and had a bent axel. I don't believe it was broken when I received it so it must have broke when I had it... I wasn't bashing it or anything. I was just driving it on grass and asphalt the entire time. The spoiler broke off after one roll. For the arm to break like that it tells me CHEAP PARTS. Like what others said, the motor is way undersized for this 1/10 size RC car. The motor gets very hot and will turn off. The RC car is also very tippy. It tips over at every turn. You have to be going slow (15-25% Throttle) to turn without flipping over. Pros: If you install aftermarket quality parts, the car will be great. Parts such as bigger motor, motor fan, quality front arms, quality rear arms, thicker metal axels, and longer arms to prevent it from tipping so easily. I think with these addition the car will be fun but you'll be near the $300 range so you can get a better car for that $300 price point, so overall it's not worth it. But moving on with the Pros: Fast for a 2S Easy Wheelies RTR out of the box (Will need upgrades quickly) Can run on 3S but the motor will get hot quick Lots of controls and options on the receiver Cons: Very Tippy Hosim not responding to your emails/not answering calls Brushless motor is under sized for the 1/10 RC Car Go down on the oil weight on the shocks. The body will flex before the shocks compress. Deans adapter to allow 2x2S battery @2600mAH to run in parallel (Should have just supplied one 2S 5000mAH battery in my opinion since the car only comes with one charger) Cheap parts: Arms break easily Axels bend easily Spoiler breaks off easily

I give it a 5 star… BUT….
Definitely enjoying my HOSIM 1:10 scale truck. Just bought my son the 1:16th HOSIM truck as well. This truck is definitely a blast. If you plan to get one… know it is NOT for newbies. Go easy on the throttle and learn the turning before going all out. (You can make all these adjustments on the remote) The remote allows you to adjust turning radius, alignment/turning, as well as throttle speed, which is super useful depending where you are driving it and what you plan to do with it. This thing is pretty FAST and super fun. DO NOT run 3S batteries unless you feel like replacing your gears often. I KNOW, we all want MORE…. But it WILL grind and chip the factory gears, front end, rear end and probably even the main drive gear. It is also SOO FAST it is uncontrollable on 3S without throttle mitigation. I am on my second truck now under warranty and only run 2S batteries that came with it now. Luckily, you can buy all of the SPARE PARTS online at HOSIM.com. This R/C truck runs FAST enough and is super fun. It wheelies, does pretty great donuts, and FLYYS around as is. The battery life does go by quick so you will probably want a speed charger or a 2nd set of batteries. The R/C truck also only comes with a single charger, I only run two batteries at a time so this is a pain but manageable with a cheap dual charger off Amazon. Things I would do immediately before running it: Make sure you use two battery straps across the batteries. If using the dual battery adapter. Put electrical tape or duct tape on it after its connected to the truck plug in. This has come out on me before while jumping the truck. The good news is, the actual connections to the battery are strong and don’t need tape. (I always leave my dual battery connector in and always run dual batteries) CONS: the ECU on both my trucks so far has randomly reset the throttle and steering to reverse the controls. (FIX: turn off the remote and the truck and just flip both switches to “reverse throttle” / reverse steering” and flip the truck and remote back on and it should go back to where you had it set to/ how it comes. If not, repeat the steps. This has worked for me.) Put BIGGER SCREWS in the top of the spoiler immediately (unless you don’t care about having a wing) PRO: This truck gives you a LOT of BANG for the BUCK and nothing in this price range will touch this truck. (Yes it is Made in China) Let me know if you have any questions. If you are on the fence. I say BUY IT!!! Can’t go wrong at this price point for the speed and joy this truck brings. Plus it jumps and goes up curbs like a boss regardless of the lower stance. This truck is SUPER DURABLE as well!!! I run her pretty HARD! Enjoy! - Vinny

Quick and Rugged RC Car!
This is my first hobby grade RC car, and also my first 1:10 scale and so far I gotta say I love it! I had bought a 1:18 scale, and it kept flipping over on it's top which was super annoying for someone who is disabled and has a sizeable surgical hernia. On top of that, one of the wheels quit engaging so it became a three wheel drive. I returned that one and after doing some research, I decided to give this X07W a shot and I'm so glad I did! This thing is super quick! I have to turn the throttle trim down a bit to control it better! LOL! Speaking of control, the oil filled shocks make a night and day difference from what I'm use to! The body retaining clips even come with a rubber clip holder that is attached to the body which is really nice! The instructions manual failed to explain some of the transmitter controls, but a quick call to HOSIM customer service resolved that! Friendly service rep as well! And the first company I have came across with a textable customer service! I have so much fun with this rig that I wish it came with two battery chargers... But for less than ten bucks, I just ordered my second! I have a rough front yard that is mostly moss and dirt, and a large gravel driveway that I run this rig in and it isn't bothered by the rough terrain in the least! I've not timed it so I could be wrong, but it feels like each battery lasts longer than the expected twenty minutes of run time. If you are an amateur like me looking for a great, fun place to start in the on land RC world, I highly recommend you start here! I have flipped this rig a few times over on it's top and it isn't phased in the least! It's built tough! The front of the shell (body) did crack, but not real bad. A little contact cement on the inside of the shell over the crack fixed it nicely. At first it seemed a bit pricey, but after extensive research I really couldn't beat the value. The fan on the ECM, oil filled shocks, rubber tires, light weight and tough body, brushless motor, metal gears and parts and all wheel drive all make the money spent totally worth it! I love how the light bar on the front blinks when the battery is getting ready to die! It gives you roughly a minute of time before the car stops allowing you to prepare for it where as a lot of RC toys just die with no warning. I do wish the foam surrounding the tire on the transmitter was a little more secure. It tends to pull halfway off sometimes during driving the car. A minor annoyance. Only other downside I can state is that I wish the drag links for the front wheels were adjustable. Looking straight down at the car from the top, the front wheels seem toed out a bit. My O.C.D. wants them completely straight. LOL! Overall, super happy with this rig!

Fast, but unreliable suspension and controls
Poor suspension design and cheap controls. Suspension A-arms have a production issue on their mold, small spot that always breaks and you have to order replacements. Remote handle quality is also on the low end, can’t fine tune and throttle trigger sticks in both forward and reverse. Have cheaper RCs running 5 years without the issues this one had in the first couple months. If under $100 would be okay with the issues, but current price point is not worth the quality. Decent performance and battery life if you can keep it running.

One Tough Buggy
This is an amazing car overall. This is an outstanding package for the price. You get 2 shells, an amazingly tough buggy, 2 batteries and more. It is very tough so a few crashes doesn’t do a scratch. A lot of spare parts come which is useful. Thanks to the remote you can adjust the steering, the trim, and the speed without getting up. The charging time is perfect, as well as the playing time. You could play all day without noticing, it is that much fun! But the best part is how strong it is, all the way. I recommend this for anyone wanting a fun, high speed, off road capable car for all ages

Ton of fun.
I will say this car is absolutely the funnest. Makes you feel like a kid again. To start with, I have had this car for a couple months now and it was purchased for my 10 year old son. He found it a little fast to control well, so he likes to use older cars which allows me to use this one. After using this car for a while, I did what I do, put this thing to the test. I purchased a 3S battery. WOW!!! Next level. This thing absolutely flies. The difference on speed is well worth the money. Completely pulling the trigger will flip it completely upside down, and often with enough force to land back on its wheels. Durability is top notch. With all that speed comes some epic tumbles and cartwheels. There has been some doozies. Everything is still original except for a front bumper. I do recommend checking the tire nuts after a 3S run. They will loosen. Some basic maintenance with the tools provided is to be expected. The range is as far as I need it to go, which is down the road and back. I’ve had it out 75-100 meters without any problem. I can’t comment on max distance as at 100 meters you can barely tell what direction a 1:16 car is even facing let alone drive it well. In summary, I will purchase again when my son decides he’s ready for some crazy speeds.

Amazing rc and quite possibly the best bang for your buck on Amazon.
Goes fast and takes a beating. I also had an issue out of the box and was taken care of right away by their customer service team at Hosim rc. Would deffinatly recomend for you or your kids. Lots of fun and I will be getting more right away!

Hosim x07w - 100% worth the money
Firstly, this car is definitely worth the money. It's fast, quite agile and takes a beating. However, due to the cost there are some things to consider upgrading. 1). Upgrade the cooling on the motor! It comes with a tiny heat sink on the motor which doesn't do enough to keep it cool. If you only plan on using the included 2S batteries, then the cooler is just enough. However it will still overheat if you keep your finger on the throttle. You can buy a bigger heatsink with a fan attached from Amazon for like $15AUD. (I noticed when the motor over heats the car will still accelerate even when you're not pulling the trigger. I turned off the controller however the car was still accelerating.) *lucky it was only moving at a slow speed. 2) Upgrade the shocks! The shocks it comes with do not rebound the wheels very fast. So the car when moving on never surfaces will jump from time to time. Also when landing from a jump it will bounce in the air on the landing. It's NOT a "must upgrade", but by just changing the fluid in the shocks you will see a noticeable difference. I found advice online to clean out the existing fluid in the shocks and refill them with 70wt silicone shock oil. The recommended brand is "Team Losi Racing". 3) if you have upgraded the shocks and motor cooling. Then I would purchase some 3S batteries. I purchased them from the Hosim store on Amazon. They make a HUGE difference in the torque and high end speed. The car comes pre installed with a wheel bar. However using the 2S batteries, you will never need to use it. On the 3S batteries, and every time you go full throttle the car raises up on its back wheels. I didn't have a gps or speedo for the car, but at an estimated guess. On the 2S batteries, top speed was about 60Kmph. On the 3S batteries, top speed was about 90kmph. Obviously, the faster your car goes, the harder it will crash. I found myself mostly using between 10% - 70% throttle for 95% of the time. For donuts on gravel and bark, I was using 100% throttle and it was a lot of fun. I am tempted to make some holes in the chassis, one near the windscreen and one in the read window. Just to create some airflow inside the chassis to hell cool everything down. I may glue some mesh (fly screen door material) over the holes to limit crud getting inside. Either 3au,a great car for the price. And easy to do some basic upgrades. Highly recommended
