Immediately blew up on first use in France.

I just returned from a 3 week trip to the UK. I use a sound machine for sleep (white noise), and ran that 8 hours overnight, every night, with no issues. Also used the unit for charging camera and tablet. As has been noted from other reviewers, the unit is fairly heavy, and it runs a bit warm. The only issue I have is that the plug (the three prong plug that is used for US devices on the unit itself) has apparently broken inside and is partially sticking out of the unit. I was able to use it like this with no problem, but I don't know if repeated plugging/unplugging will pull it apart. Because it was in a suitcase going overseas, I don't know that the unit was defective, or that the unit got banged around on route in the suitcase and received the damage to the plug. I'm going to see if I can fix it and can't report on that. To summarize, the unit was used for everything at least 10 hours a day and performed just fine.

Just got back from the Netherlands, used this the first night with no problem. Used it the 2nd night and it shorted out half of the Air BnB we were staying in, reeked of burned plastic, and didn't work for the rest of the trip. Waste of money, couldn't even bring it back to return it because it was heavy and I didn't want my suitcase to smell burned too. But, hey, at least the shipping was fast?

The converter worked for 10 mins and died. It produced a noticeable buzzing noise while it was working and got a bit warm. I used it to charge a 24v lithium battery.The merchant offered a replacement but it wouldn't serve the purpose to receive it in the USA when I had already gone overseas. Remember I couldn't perform a test whilst in the USA because it would require 220v to use it.Anyway, may be other people had better luck. But not for me.

i bought this before my international travel. First time i used it, after 20 mins or so the adapter heated and melted. It was a good thing I noticed this in time and unplugged my mac. Totally useless and unreliable. Don't waste your money!

About the item: runs a bit hot, but is stable and does the job. As such, it is the best of the low-end voltage converters.About the vendor, I don't know if this is their fault or Amazon's: They have me on record as having returned the product (I never asked to) and the record indicates that they refunded about 51% of the original price (why that amount?).

We live in Italy now and I still have a few American luxuries I like to use every now and then (heating pad, Christmas tree, scentsy warmer) and this transformer is working well for me.

Was leery about using this overseas in Asia. But, it helped charge our electronic devices safely considering the wattage overseas.
