Great Book in a Small Package
Outstanding. The author has done an great job of using LT. Michael P. Murphys life as an example for excellence and leadership. Must read! Murphys legacy lives on thanks in part to this book. A special thanks to the friends & family for raising such a great man.I'm going to address some of the issues people seem to have with this book. It is short and sweet; do not expect a lengthy volume. This is not a book on SEALs, SEAL training or even LT. Michael Murphys life. If you are looking for any of these subjects I highly recommend the books written by Dick Couch, Marcus Luttrell or even Murphys biography written by the same author.

Mediocre at Best
I do not usually write reviews, but felt compelled to do so for this book. I was very excited to receive this in the mail, only to be generally disappointed. The author writes at the level of a college freshman who just pulled an all-nighter for their Intro to Writing class. While the book is 98 pages, there are really only about 50-60 pages of real text. These pages are filled with filler from the author's heroes and main work on Murphy: SEAL of Honor. It is not uncommon to read a paragraph that simply sets up a quote from another work (see my statement on college freshman writing level). I would estimate a quarter of the book is simply copy and pasted from various well-known US Navy publications and statements.Yes, there are good aspects to this book. However, it is not Murphy-centric. Instead of taking leadership attributes from Murphy's life, this book reads Murphy's life INTO leadership attributes (not necessarily a bad thing). So if you are looking for a brief autobiography on LT Murphy, buy SEAL of Honor--but I am hesitant to do so if it has any resemblance in writing to this work.

Heart of a Lion
After reading Lone Survivor, I wanted to read this book on Lt. Michael Patrick Murphy to get better knowledge of his leadership abilities and was blown away. The chapters are only about a page and a half to two pages but it gave great insight into the kind of person Lt. Murphy was. It is a book that is definitely worth reading especially to those who are in a leadership role. Doesn't take long to read but well worth the time.

Well documented description of a true American Hero
A wonderful description of an outstanding leader and true American hero. Lt. Murphy exemplifies the traits of a selfless person who unhesitatingly gave his life in an effort to save the other three members of his team. Only one of the four, Marcus Luttrell, lived andin his book "Lone Survivor" described Lt. Murphy as the best officer I ever served with. An apt description of an amazing Naval officer.

Meh, its ok. Not bad. Not great.
Easy book to read. But it did not flow well. My kindle copy had all kinds of grammar issues. I liked the gist of the book, but it just seemed incomplete. 1/3 of the book is a list of books suggested to read.

An Honor to Read About Him
This book arrived very quickly and I'm very happy about that. Michael was a student in our school and I'm very proud to read about his heroism. Our local post office is named for him, which is an honor too. All Americans should read this book. It's what being a hero is all about.

Heart of a Lion - good to have for anyone who wants to not forget LT. M. P. Murphy
Great book. Simple but effective. Everyone who wants to not forget LT. M. P. Murphy must have it. There are not many works on this great man, let's hope in future we will find book after book about his unforgetable life and fight. I am very grateful to author of this book for creating it!

Disappointing. Can’t recommend.
The book has less than 40 pages if you ignore the intro, blank “notes” pages and all of that (fairly large font too) so not a lot of substance. It’s hard not to feel disappointed; the author could have taken more time and put more effort into researching Lt. Murphy’s life. Such a shame to waste an opportunity to write about this amazing man. I sure hope Williams has donated at least half of proceeds from this book to Michael’s family. See “Fearless” by Eric Blehm - now that’s a well researched book.
