how do I know if the hearing aid fits?

That is complicated to answer. They give different size buds to fit the ear canals. The device itself, in each ear, can feel different and take time getting used to. For example with my right ear, I had no problems. The left struggled. I developed a blister and had to keep it out for a week and then it's been fine ever since. I think in general it will fit any ear but whether or not that feels comfortable at first may be a concern. Its more of getting used to the fact it's in there.

are these aids water and or sweat proof

Since the manufacturer doesn't provide an IP rating (Intrusion Protection), I wouldn't chance it.
