This is the best at home bleach powder you can buy. The deep blue tone helps you lift to a much lighter shade than standard lighter blue bleaches. You do still have to have an idea of what you're doing though. My partner is a professional stylist and colourist so we get great results. A lot of bad bleach jobs are more to do with user error and completely not understanding the science of colouring and lifting. So if you know what you're doing or at least are willing to pay attention to some in depth YouTube tutorials and take your time - and not try to lift already overly coloured, damaged or naturally very dark hair - I would highly recommend this product for home bleaching.

I've spent years bleaching and dyeing with an assortment of different products. This one took three 90-minute sessions to get all the pigments, natural and otherwise, out of my hair so that I could turn the bits that aren't growing through grey to a nice silver. That's pretty normal for my hair, which is naturally dark and pulls red like a runaway fire truck. I fully expected damage, breakage, somewhat crunchy hair by the end of that process. What I got was soft hair with shine and movement! Nothing broke, went crunchy or fell off. To my utter astonishment it actually seems better than before I started. Why?? I did pre-treat with Palmer's Coconut Oil leave-in oily stuff for a day, then use a decent amount of BondPlex in each bleaching and Joico Vero developer which is meant to prevent some damage, so all that probably helped, but then again I always do that. This bleach seems a lot gentler than any I've used before, and they were good quality ''name'' brands. Has my hair just given up protesting in despair and decided to embrace the bleach??

I used this with 30 volume developer on my box dyed blackish/brownish/reddish hair and although the colour lifted, I am now various shades of ginger. Due to the various box dyes that I have used, this was not a suprise. I am glad that I didn't touch my roots otherwise, I would have hot roots and no-one looks good with white roots and orange hair 🤣. I've watched enough Brad Mondo fail videos 🤣 I also used the same brand's toning mask and their leave in conditioner and my hair feels phenomenal and there was very little breakage. I had visions of my hair falling out in clumps and it didn't. Honestly the integrity of my hair has not been compromised. I would recommend though that you get two boxes or even three for long hair. The mix of powder and developer is VERY thick so it doesn't go a long way.

I normally use Blondor because that’s the brand I trained with in college, BUT, every time I’ve used it at home, my hair has turned to chewing gum. I’m trying to bleach out henna copper red from my hair to a nicer medium blonde, so needed something more gentle, and tbh, I think I’ve found the best bleach on the market. I have paired this with Oxi-Bond 40% (wouldn’t recommend a peroxide of this percentage but it’s all they had available and I’m a desperado with impulsivity). This result was from 4 bleach baths within in 2 days (1 dollop of peroxide, 1 dollop of any shampoo, and 2 scoops of the bleach) and safe to say, my hair does feel weak with any bleach process, but it hasn’t been reduced to chewing gum. Again… I’m removing henna. Wasn’t expecting platinum so quite confident that if your hair isn’t too dark or too red beforehand, that it will lift to a pleasant blonde. Always tone your hair a few days after you’ve bleached or it just doesn’t take.

As a stylist with over 40 years experience I assume when a product says it has 9 shades of lift it’s going to create a super clean blonde…after 50 mins on mid brown hair with 20 vol I was left with a ginger blonde….not a good result for a powder that is quite expensive for the size you receive…my old bleach with 20 vol lifts to a clean blonde on this base in 30 mins …so I won’t be using again!
