Great reel for the money
Very nice reel for the money. Solidly built. Decent drag. Smooth retrieve. Casts well. Really impressed thus far. I have other reels that are just as nice but cost twice or three times as much as this one.

Unbelievable value!
Ok, so I'm gonna beat a dead horse I think with this reel. I purchased the black version a few weeks back, and couldn't believe the smoothness, and the castablity with this reel. Yes, I realize it's a $30 reel... But after fishing with it, I knew I needed to come back and buy another one before I couldn't buy them again. This time I purchased the green one, and the quality and usability was the same. Perfect. I love fishing, and I definitely love finding amazing items that don't cost an arm and a leg. These reels are the epitome of budget excellence. The reel for us everyday guys that don't need or want a $300 reel to prove we catch fish. Thank you Piscifun for making some amazing items for the average guy.

Well worth the money but not 20lbs worth of drag.
Stupid cheap, yet stupid good quality. From weightless trickworms to monster buzz baits, it'll cast it. Not sure about a 4ft 10lb swim bait, but it's not exactly designed for them anyway. The only reason for 4 stars is the 20lb drag ratting is exaggerated because it slips popping a 3/8oz jig off the bottom if you jerk hard enough, even with the drag locked down. Plenty enough to not worry about a big bass, and it seems smooth too, but 20lbs is definitely a bit more than it really has.

Great Reel for the Price!
I just received the reel, and it arrived in perfect condition. I spooled some braid onto it and took it out back to try a few casts. I have to say, for the money, this reel competes with some of the higher-priced reels I've seen here on Amazon. It feels smooth, casts well, and has a solid build.I got the green version, and I'm really impressed with the quality. It performs just as well as some of the more expensive options out there. So much so, I’ve already placed an order for the black one! You won’t go wrong with this reel—highly recommend it!

Love this reel
This reel works great, looks good, amazing build quality, high capacity to hold a lot of line, easy to tune so you can prevent backlash, and is easy to cast when paired with the right rod.

Smooth as butter.
Lightweight, very smooth, compact size. Very impressive at this price point.

Not bad, but feels soulless
I bought the Piscifun Torrent II for one reason: it’s an 8.1:1 baitcaster under $40. It was meant to replace my Lew’s Classic Pro SLP (7.5:1), since I needed a faster reel for working Senkos through heavy vegetation. I was hoping the Torrent II would fill that role—but after taking it out for a day on the water, my impression is that it feels soulless. The reel lacks the feedback I’m used to with something like a Shimano SLX—or even the Lew’s Classic Pro SLP it was meant to replace. It is undeniably fast, and for $40, I can’t expect premium performance. That said, the casting feels vague, with very little tactile connection to what’s happening on the line. It seems like a well-designed reel, but the materials feel cheap.Oddly, the reel feels bulky despite being lightweight. My Lew’s is smaller but feels heavier and more solid—likely due to higher-quality materials. The Torrent II’s lightness wouldn’t be a problem if the frame felt more rigid or premium.Overall, this is a great reel for $40—as long as you’re not expecting high-end performance or responsiveness. But for me, feel and feedback are non-negotiable, which is why I’m switching back to my Lew’s, even if it’s a bit slower than the Torrent II.
