Royal Hotel's Down Pillow - 500 Thread Count 100% Cotton, Down, King Size, Firm, Set of 2

I'll quickly summarize my pillow experiences because thought process is important to decision making. I will also mention as of this writing I have only been using the pillows for a couple weeks. They are a definite recommend. My wife loves her King size as she uses the whole thing almost like a mattress and sleeps very soundly. I am a side sleeper and it is good but i do have cheaper pillows that work almost as well.My wife and I have always been resigned to just buying new pillows every 6 months or so as we have never found pillows that don't go permanantly flat even if you try placing them in the dryer. On the other hand we have never bought expensive pillows. About two years ago I bought a gel foam (not shredded) pillow which was horrible. Made my head sweat, flattened overnight. On the other hand I have to say after two years it still always re-inflates to its original shape.My son bought a deluxe bamboo shredded memory foam pillow a couple months ago and brags about it. So I borrowed it for a night and boy was it comfortable. Head stayed cool, pillow didn't flatten...and with a light fluff it goes to any consistency you would want. I felt a little silly at that point because since I hated my gel foam pillow so much I assumed all gel foam pillows would be horrible. Boy was I wrong. My son bought his bamboo pillow from big lots for 29.99.However, I travel a lot and I love some hotel pillows, especially the royal hotel pillows so I got on amazon and was destined to buy either a royal hotel pillow or a deluxe bamboo pillow. So I bought the royal hotel in King size. In the meantime while waiting for them to arrive, I went to big lots and they had a 20% the entire store sale. So I thought, why not get a bamboo deluxe for 24 bucks since I paid 160 for the royal hotel set of two pillows? Then I noticed big lots had a shredded gel foam pillow (queen sized) in pairs on sale for 16 bucks! After comparing them to the deluxe bamboo pillow they were essentially the same with the exception of two things. The bamboo has a superior pillow case and the bamboo is about 3 inches longer. However, I could buy 2 tempur pedics for the cost of 1 bamboo (which is what I did).So I slept 3 extremely comfortable nights on the tempur pedics from big lots and just knew I was going to return the 160+ bucks worth of royal hotel pillows from amazon as soon as they arrived. After all, I could buy 10 queen sized tempur pedics for the price of one king size royal hotel!Then the royal hotel pillows arrived. They were vacuumed sealed and looked really flat. Since we just got a king size bed, wife convinced me to open them up to try them out before we return them. Well, they never got returned. They are extremely comfortable for her (she is 130 lbs). They are also the best pillows I have ever owned (I am an athletic 230lbs), but not that much better than the 16 dollar tempur pedic shredded gel foam. With both I sleep and never wake up until morning.So, for sure, you cannot go wrong with these Royal Hotel pillows...but if 160 is a lot for you...take a trip to big lots.

Do not listen to negative reviews.These pillows are great.I ordered firm. Heavy filled feather and down.Legitimate firm to medium firm.Cover is silky smooth.I can't imagine a better pillow for any amount.

After reading some of the critical reviews I'll couch my comments by saying that I've only slept on these pillows for 3 nights now but so far so good. They have a generous fill and have some weight to them. They also seem to stay nice and cool over night. I would call this pillow a solid medium-firm and hope as time goes on they will "break-in" to a nice medium which will be perfect for me. I can't help but wonder if some of the 1-star reviewers might have received the wrong product.UPDATE: Had these for over a year now. The pillows are still in use, though there is one thing. Had to buy secondary pillow covers to keep the down from finding its way out of the factory cover. This is somewhat common in down pillows, but for some reason these lost more than I would expect. Other than that, all is well.

This company provides top-notch service and products at an affordable price.I initially ordered a set of medium-firm king-size pillows, but after a week or so of use, I found they were too firm for my needs. (I have medical conditions which leave me primarily bedridden. In addition, it is impossible to lie down on non- down pillows without triggering excruciating pain in my head, neck, and shoulders. )I then contacted the seller for an exchange, and within a week, I received a new set of soft king-size pillows. The process of exchange was smooth, quick and pleasant. The soft ones are soft enough to alleviate my pain yet supportive to sufficiently cradle my neck in a very comfortable position, regardless of whether I lie down on my back or my side. My sleep and life quality have both improved drastically with these heavenly soft king-size pillows.I highly recommend this company and their amazing pillows to anyone who is a fan of down pillows.

I love these pillows!! So much that I just had to write a review. I bought these for our vacation home in Key West and wanted luxury pillows. These fit the bill for me. Here's what to expect...They are adequately filled with lots of fluff. You could almost say there are on the dense side and slightly overstuffed when you fluff them. They are NOT however round - your head gives when you lay on them. The pillow deflates if you press down with your hands.... I find them extremely comfortable at night. The first night I slept the entire night comfortably with no interruptions. People state the fabric is noisy - USE A PILLOW PROTECOR and then your pillow case - NO Noise whatsoever. People wrote your head flattens the pillow all the way to the bed - not unless your head is made of lead. And all you have to do is fluff a little and it's right back up for a good long while. I bought four of these for our king size bed basically because I like lots of "pillow" when I sleep. This really fits the bill. There is more than enough to sleep on with two pillows. One is sufficient really. I found NO ODD SMELL whatsoever. They fluff up perfectly in the dryer. I highly recommend these pillows. I would buy again in a heart beat.

I've bought a lot of down pillows in my time, in the dozens. These king firm are the best I have purchased. The down fill is phenomenal. It's the kind of density I would expect to pay for a single $400 pillow at my local department store; and here, you get two for almost half that price. I'm sure it's a volume thing with Amazon because these are top-of-the-line. I am using two on my king-bed, and I am purchasing four more for my massage therapy clinic for my pregnant patients and those with orthopedic issues. Yes, they are that good! I read a lot of complaints here about an odor. I have encountered no such odor, and I am hyper-sensitive to these kinds of issues. There was no need to air these out. Only down side was the $40 shipping cost. No Amazon free shipping here, but they were shipped FedEx and got here in two-days. Total price still far less than what I would have paid for one pillow of this quality. So, so happy!

Fabulous pillows. High quality high thread count covers - no feathers will be popping through these covers anytime soon. And they have lots of fill in the pillow. As a few other people have commented, they were a bit firmer than I’m used to with down pillows, but I got used to it in a night or two and am just loving them! I’m very impressed with the quality and comfort. I searched for pillows in a number of bricks and mortar stores (before buying these ones) and I found down pillows of much lesser quality at double and triple the price. These are a great buy.

Good quality, ok value, no cover (although cover was not advertised but typically accompanied) but I was unimpressed with the loft. I thought this pillow would be slightly more firm. Overall a B+

These pillows are soooo comfortable, like sleeping on a cool, fluffy cloud. I spoiled myself and bought one after my other nice pillow had an unfortunate road trip with a carsick child, and I just adore this pillow. Really light and puffy, nothing like those heavy, lumpy, cheap feather pillows you might have slept on before. I've had mine for over a year, and I can fluff it all day long and I have never seen a feather escape from it. If you want to spoil yourself with a luxury pillow, this is like a pillow Ferrari.

**Update - it’s been a year and these are still the best pillows ever. Ordering a second set for my in laws!** Life changing pillows. It’s very important for a bed to be a welcoming retreat. Ordered king size in extra firm and standard in firm. I’ve got to say they’re the best down pillows I’ve ever encountered and I’ve stayed in luxury hotels...these are amazing! No deflation, no leaks, quality cannot be overstated. Shipped fast from California - there was NO duty.
