Good range, works great with raspberry pi
Does the job nicely. I’m now able to control my robot vacuum cleaner and my TV from a raspberry pi using Alexa commands across the room!

I bought the IR transmitter diode(s) to remotely control a Humax Freesat box in the room above via a 10m cable. It replaces an earlier one of mine that was not as good. I didn't need the lens at the top of the diode, so I filed it down about half way to make it omni-directional. The IR receive diodes in the same Amazon package remain unused since I already built one into a little box I designed once to transmit IR signals from the floor below via the other end of a 10m cable. Another 10m HDMI cable sends the Humax video to my TV downstairs where I can use the original Humax controller to control the Humax videos it sends me.
