Fantastic
Great book Cara one of your best but I'm sure you can keep them coming. Can't wait for another one.

Cute
It was a cute fast read. The romance itself felt a bit rushed in my opinion. And the amount of time it took Hannah to rebuild her confidence after being where she was stuck for so long was a tad unrealistic to me. But that doesn't distract from the touching story this one was built on. That story is Nora and Minnie's and it broke my heart. Glad that Nora's niece story worked out better and much happier.

Worth it!
Interesting and heartbreaking. Ms. Malone's use of words to describe a scene are detailed and allows you to imagine yourself immersed with the characters. Feeling is awesome.I liked how Avery patiently taught Hannah about restoring her home, not just by instructing her but also by having her do the work herself. Giving her praise and encouragement that Hannah can accomplish anything. The relationship between the two were sweet and both were not just working on the house; they were also getting to know each other. Hope there's more to their story. This is my second book, first was a really short story but this one I'm glad I gave the writer another try. Looking forward to reading more in the future from this author.

Labor On, Buttercup
Hannah and Avery’s story was a rural gem. I enjoyed the banter, conversation, and aura between them. The inclusion of Nora and Minnie’s history, especially the notebook that Nora left for Hannah, was lovely. At the beginning, I was wondering about the contents of Nora’s letter to Hannah and I was happy that they were revealed during the moment when Avery really needed to hear them. For the future, a story involving the new occupants of the restored home would be welcomed and one that I would delve into. All in all, an enjoyable read. :)

Quick paced and hot!
Overall a good book to kill time on the beach, the bus or lunch at work. Unless you suspect that someone can be looking over your shoulder, because some parts are too hot for words. At first I got a bit put out by the speed but I got onboard soon enough.Recommending!

Nice little story, lacks character development
It is an interesting little story, but the characters are not deeply developed. The most jarring thing while reading were the grammatical and spelling errors. "these ones" which is grammatically incorrect because it is redundant, was used twice, not included within quote marks so that error is the author's. The spelling of "piece" was used where "peace" should have been used. Sometimes the writing does not flow, but is a bit jumbled so you have to go back and read it again to see what is really being said. Despite these observances I think it is a good little short story and I have no doubt Miss Cara Malone will continue to develop positively as a writer.

great, likable characters
Where should I start? So, great, likable characters, interesting plot, crazy family members, and people with commitment issues. And an old and creaky house that needs a lot of fixing. What I love about Cara Malone's novels, that she takes these flawed or even broken people and shows us how strong people who are willing to take risks can make their lives better while also finding love, while finding life partners who are worth those risks.I won't recap story points here, read the book for that.I have only one problem with this book, it was over and I still wanted to read more. But I'm like that with all the books I like.

Great, but there are many typos
The story is great and the characters' developments as well, there were two minor setbacks if I may say so: many typos and a few of the flashbacks during the plot actually did more to confused me than to actually clarify or explain a situation. But overall I really enjoyed reading it, it is a real page-turner!

Loved this
I loved this book. Not only the main romance but the snippets of the historical romance and the part it plays in the story. Full marks.

Brilliant
This story was well written and one of the few stories i have read where the characters reactions to events were real. In many other stories it feels as the author is making the character react in a completely unbelievable way to keep the plot trucking along. I highly recommend this book to anyone reading these reviews. The only negative is that the ending is a bit abrupt, this did not in any way detract from or ruin the story at all.

Short but sweet... and you know what you are going to get
It was pretty obvious what was going to happen all the way through this short tale (2/3rds of a full book long). But don't let that detract from an enjoyable and easy read. Limited drama, reasonably quickly resolved, pleasant characters (if a bit cardboard cut-out) that the reader could invest in, and enough detail in the HEA ending to provide satisfaction. If you just want a bit of relaxing fun that doesn't tax your brain cells too much, you'll probably really enjoy this romance. A solid 4 stars overall.

renovation rescues more than a house
A learning to love with a parallel love story from the past that highlighted the difficulties LGBTQI folk had in getting families to accept their love. In current story our main characters each have challenges and need to grow so that love may flourish. Touching
