Great for jewelry making too!
The Network Cable Untwist Tool turned out to be surprisingly useful for straightening jewelry wires and pin heads! While it’s designed for untwisting network cables, the tool’s strong, ergonomic grip and precise functionality made it perfect for untangling and straightening fine jewelry wires. I was able to easily remove any twists and kinks in the wire, giving me smoother, more professional-looking pieces for my jewelry projects. It’s sturdy enough to handle the pressure needed without damaging delicate wires.I also found it to be very comfortable to use, even for extended periods. The compact design makes it easy to store, and it’s lightweight, so I didn’t feel fatigued while using it. Overall, while it’s intended for cable work, this tool has proven to be a handy and unexpected addition to my jewelry-making toolkit, and I’ll definitely continue using it for future wire and pin head straightening tasks.

Saves your fingers
I used this handy tool to straighten CAT6 wire (#23 AWG) prior to connection to a pass-thru style RJ-45 Ethernet connector. You still need to untwist the pair but this tool is a big help straightening each one. I'm not convinced that the bumpy pattern is the ultimate best choice for straightening UTP wires, but it does this well enough and completely saves your fingers. It's easy to lose, so I really liked the 3-pack. LOL Recommended as "pretty good" for its purpose.

Cable Crafting Savior
As a grizzled networking veteran who had to learn the art of cable-crafting in order to graduate, I've seen my fair share of twisted pairs and frayed ends. Back in my day, we didn't have fancy tools like this "Network Cable Untwist Tool, Engineer Wire Straightener for CAT5/CAT5e/CAT6/CAT7 Wires Pair." No, we had to rely on our bare hands and sheer determination to wrestle those stubborn cables into submission. But let me tell you, when it came to those beefy CAT6/7 cables, my fingers would scream in agony. It was like trying to unravel a milkshake-thick braid of pure evil. I'd spend hours hunched over my workbench, cursing the networking gods and questioning my life choices. That's why I'm here to sing the praises of this little marvel. This untwist tool is like a gift from the cable management heavens. Not only does it make quick work of untwisting those pesky pairs, but it also straightens out the cable like a drill sergeant whipping a new recruit into shape.Gone are the days of mangled fingers and frayed tempers. With this tool in your arsenal, you'll be able to tackle even the most unruly cables with ease. Your hands will thank you, and your sanity will remain intact. In short, if you value your time, your fingers, and your mental well-being, this Network Cable Untwist Tool is worth every single penny. Trust me, as a battle-scarred networking veteran, I only wish I had this beauty back when I was struggling through those cable-making classes. Don't make the same mistake I did – invest in this tool and save yourself from a world of pain. Your future self will thank you, and you might even crack a smile while taming those beastly CAT6/7 cables.

It works- alittle fincky
When it works its a lifesaver when dealing with CAT cables.. it saves alot of time. But I had a hard time using it as it broke some of the cables when pulling it out. Its handy.. but there are some quirks, I prefer using the the shielding of the cable to untangle the wires rather than this tool its just quicker that way..

Does on thing and does it well -- straightens Ethernet wires
This tool makes it so simple to straighten out Ethernet cable wires that a cave man could do it. You still have to do the hard work of cutting off the jacket and untwisting the twisted pairs, but once the wires are separated this tool will straighten out those wires in a few pulls, so you can get on with crimping. Your fingers will thank you.

GREAT tool for amateurs
Pros might look at this and laugh, but for someone like me, who only runs ethernet cables once in a blue moon, this tool dramatically sped things up. For me, the worst part about cutting my own cables was straightening the 8 wires. My fingers were quickly in pain and the wires still weren't straight enough to get into the RJ45 connector. God forbid I was doing a ton of these, my fingers would give out long before my work was finished. This was about the only tool I could find to supposedly help and I'm so glad I found it. Not only do my fingers not hurt after doing a bunch of cables, but it sped up the entire process immensely. It's a cheap little plastic tool, but it's worth 100x its weight in gold to an amateur ethernet cable installer like me.A few tips for first time users:1. Run the wire across the section with a big gap in the little nubs (the middle).2. Don't press together too hard or you'll strip the wire insulation. You'll know you're pressing too hard if the wires start to form an arc instead of straightening.3. Run each wire through about 2-3x, rotating each time, so the wire twists/bumps are always perpendicular to the tool's nubs.

Doesn't work - my fingers do a far better job
It just plain doesn't work, and comes with no instructions. I've been doing Category cable wiring for decades, and have always just used my fingers to straighten the untwisted pairs (which is what this tools is purported to do) and I guess I'll keep doing it that way. Don't waste your money.
