Set of Genuine Victor Oxygen & Acetylene Regulators, Medium Duty, Brand New

Maybe it's just me getting older and losing track of inflation, but for the $250 or so price tag, I expected the gauges to be BETTER than the ones you get with Harbor Freight / Craftsman / etc regulators. I mean, it's ESAB / Victor, these are big names in the welding industry, so I expected better. Maybe cheap, flimsy-seeming gauges is how they sell the steel gauge-cage protector accessory, eh? Nevertheless, as far as doing the job, the first thing I did after installing them was fire up the cutting torch, to see how the oxy regulator performed with the big flow change one gets with a cutting torch, and I was mightily impressed. Based on my past experience with frighteningly cheap gear from both Crapsman and People's Number One Torch Factory (Shangai), I had this naive notion that maybe I "needed" two-stage regulators. Nah, what I "needed" was good regulators that worked well. And the Victors are certainly that. I think they should spend less on their packaging, which was luxurious and lavishly printed apparently for retail display (?!?) -- and spend that $$ on better gauges.

Quit working in under 10 months. I work from home so this thing was barely handled. Only taken off cylinders to to swap them out and put back on. I live in a dry climate and it was not exposed to the elements.

Completely dissatisfied! Ordered item twice and both times i received them they were cracked and broken gauge already reading incorrectly. Would not recommend, not worth the time and hassle!

I really like these gauges. they are very smooth turning, seem accurate and feel pretty heavy duty. Much nicer than my old ones. I hope they last a while and expect that they will. They have worked great for the short period of time I have used them.

Just as described, they look brand new, but I was surprised they were not in any kind of factory packaging. They were well packed, just not in a retail package inside the shipping box.I didn't realize that the acetylene regulator wasn't the same connection as my old one, and I will need to purchase an adapter, but that's on me.

better units are hard to find in the work range, the price was very completive to my local welding shops!

Short term these regulators work really well. I purchased these as a replacement to my very old Sears set, to braze an evaporator. Finishing is good, no leaks. Worked OK. Now let's see how long they last!

Nice compact size and seen to be well made , should last a ling time.
