Great for large DIY taping jobs
I purchased this because we are finishing the basement of our house. If you are doing a small room just bed the tape by hand and save the money. We are finishing about 1,500sqft so it was worth the investment.Banjo is great for butts and belly seems, and the inside corner roller is nice. My biggest struggle was with cutting the tape when doing the inside corners. typically it is best to cut the tape to a point where the corners meet and it is difficult to do this because this banjo doesn't have a cutting blade. The inside corner roller is hands down worth the extra expense, it is very nice to have so you don't have to fuss with the tape using a knife.Well worth the cost if you are doing a lot of drywall.

Don't. Just don't.
As a bundle pack, this would be a much better deal if it had a different drywall taping banjo. One that could consistently do its job without repeatedly fighting it. To begin with, yes, the flow of mud is controllable. What isn't described or shown is that the knob has to be removed to adjust the flow, because the knob doesn't turn. To remove the knob, you have to remove the gear attachment at the front. To do that, you have to open the banjo. Screwing with that while it's still even partially full of drywall mud can easily screw up the way your tape is laying and lead to the most common problem I had with the banjo. I've used the banjo for 2 days and had the tape tear right at the dispenser slot 5 times, at which point I had to open the banjo and reseat the tape. As you can imagine, that's pretty damn messy. My hands were completely covered in drywall mud after just 1 hour of working with this tool, all due to having to open it repeatedly and fix the tape. It effectively saved me no time or effort. Even the corner attachment wasn't helpful, as only one of the side gears was gripping the paper. If you don't have a nearly perfect lineup for the corner applicator, it'll be a real pain in the ass. I also wouldn't recommend attempting to use this tool for anything other than vertical lines. It can DO horizontal ones, but you'll be wondering why you bothered when you're done. Using this tool ultimately saved me no real time or effort, and definitely wasn't worth the price I paid for it. So why 2 stars despite all this? Despite it all, the tape I did get on the walls looked like a pretty professional job, and I doubt I could've done any better doing it with just regular taping knives.

Four Stars
Works well, light weight. The mud adjustment knob came broken but it comes with a spare.

Great for medium jobs, and small.
Very easy to clean, with a water hose. I had a problem with cutting the paper because I found it retracting inside the banjo. So now I use a knife to cut, maybe I haven't found a better way, but I feel that maybe when you pull to cut, the piece that cuts it should stick out a little further to leave the paper some room. All and all this is definitely faster than doing it by hand.

Mud spills out the back a lot
Mud spills out the back a lot. That's my only problem. Ive been using a homex previous to this and it doesn't happen. Im quite happy with the internal corner wheels.
