Grandson loved it
I have not had a chance to actually put this together, but plan to do so with my grandson when time permits. My initial observations: 1) Picture directions seem to be easy to follow 2) Comes with remote control but downloadable app can also be used to program and control robot 3) App downloads with instructions in Chinese. Tap on button in upper right corner to switch to English. I will update review concerning assembly and value once I've had an opportunity to actually sit down with my grandson and put it together.UPDATE: MY 8 year old grandson was able to put this together with minimal adult assistance. A few parts were difficult to snap into place, but that was really the only help he needed. He was able to follow the instructions and assemble it by himself. Total time taken to assemble was about 2 to 2 1\2 hours. After getting it put together, it worked perfectly with the remote. My grandson loved the challenge and I would say it is well worth the money.

Great set for my 8 year old nephew., which took him about 2 hours to assemble
My 8 year old nephew is pretty advanced when it comes to Technic sets, so I was really curious how he would do with this set. My brother estimates it took him about 2 hours to assemble (which is pretty awesome. There's nothing worse than getting a kid a building set that takes 10 minutes to assemble). He has nothing but great things to say. The instructions were clear, the pieces assemble cleanly and overall it just looks cool. The ONLY negative feedback from my brother is that (unlike other sets from Lego) you had to open all 8 bags at once in order to proceed. This means there are a lot of pieces on the floor at any given time. It seems with Legos at least, the instructions typically have you assemble one bag at a time. Thanks for reading! I hope you found this review helpful! It seems like this is another great budget-priced Technic compatible set, which all parents should be excited about.

DOES NOT HAVE REPLACEMENT PEICES
So, this is pretty cool. It is my first time doing anything like this with my nephews. I have to admit it is a bit time consuming and a bit difficult for beginners. I set up the table with paper plates so that I don't lose a thing. Every bag went into paper plate and I this way I kept the pieces separate. At first I thought the instructions would go by numbers of the bags and it does not. Each instructions box will tell you in which bag to get the pieces from. But a huge flaw was that there were no replacement pieces. Doing this with kids can really be hard not to lose a piece or two and if you are missing a piece you won't be able to proceed with it unless it's like a final piece. It has been fun. I am still not finished but my nephews absolutely have loved spending time building it together. I will update once it is completed.

Got my kid into STEM learning
We were a bit skeptic about putting him under STEM and him getting bored however this robot clear our minds. From the moment we got it he has been back and forward building it and once finished he was over the moon! We knew for sure he wanted to keep building more STEM products and this robot helped us. Easy for a kid to assemble by himself, very sturdy and well made, instructions are clear as well!

8-10 year olds haven't figure it out yet
I think if this was something that was easier to put together, that would be great. I like the idea of the toy. But I have worked in my school with various students. ( I have 3 of these), and so far, none of them have been able to put it together. Not even my GT students. They end up losing interest. If you are up for the challenge, go for it. But it has not been easy to assemble.

Great learning experience
This would definitely make a good gift for any 8 year old that loves building. It's kind of like putting together kinex or Legos. Easy instructions to follow. We had to help very little with out kiddo putting it together. She enjoyed using her robot with the remote controller after she did all the work putting it together. It was a great learning experience for her. I want to get another for my son now.
