Measured myself 3 times and the fit that match fell right off. I had to go a size down to get a good fit with some wiggle room.

Okay, there's one bad thing. There's a fake pocket on the right hip, where you would ordinarily keep your wallet or keys. There's a flap with snaps, but it doesn't hold anything. It could really use that pocket, in my opinion.The cargo pockets, left and right, are decent size. The left has a small auxiliary pocket that's not really deep enough to securely hold a cell phone, maybe a note pad or something. But the main left pocket is fine, and has a snapped flap for security.The right pocket is similarly snapped, and has 2 small pockets for pencils or pens, and another Velcro pocket that seems to be sized for a small pocket knife ( like a standard Swiss Army knife).The fabric appears to be a light cotton duck with snaps and buckles for minor size adjustment. Being cotton, I would expect it to shrink after washing, and im sure it will wrinkle. We'll see.This isn't a traditional kilt, but it's a great modern take on that garment.I like it enough to have ordered another one.

Needed a Utility kilt for hubby to wear to the Renaisance Festival in Larkspur this year, as it was Celtic weekend and his Clan/Surname is enlish & irish. It is just what I wanted; durable, heavy duty material, and it fits him perfectly. Size 36 is true to size and fit. And he looks awesome in it.

Has a good thickness to the fabric. If machine washed and dried, they will shrink about an inch in the waist and fade. No issues with dry cleaning. Pleats are fully stitched, which makes ironing a lot easier. There are 2 sets of buttons inside which allows you to adjust it an inch or so larger than the advertised size. Measure waist with a dress tape, do not use your pant size. I have 2 and will be getting more.

My son is in Boy scouts and some of the dads bought this as a Joke for a washers tournament to raise money for scouts, and they wore these kilts as a costume. Well My kid was just super smitten with the idea and BEGGED for one. so i finally gave it and he wears this damn thing to Tennis tournaments and Court or Honor ceremonies and Eagle scout ceremonies. (it doesnt help that those same dads that bought thier kilts like to keep wearing them too for the fun of it) so whatever. He enjoys being different and standing out. but does it mostly becyase the other dads do it too. lol My husband will not be caught dead in one though lol.

The sizing we went with was a size up based on other reviews, and wish we had just gotten the exact instead. There's room and more for a good belt to help, but in this instance the exact would have been perfect. The only downside is that the product we received was WAY GREENER than expected. You think you're getting an olive green (some grey tones so it isn't vibrant and closer to the tree leaf or fruit) but it is GREEN GREEN GREEN with bright orange-brown stitching. The color isn't what we were after, but it's very well made and easy to use.

The waist size, as almost always now, was deceptive. Order two to four sizes bigger than expected.
