Great for the money.
To put it briefly, this is the best price to performance ratio you'll see.If you want specifics...I must say that you should NOT buy this if you are unable or unwilling to set it up properly, either by yourself or at a shop. When mine came in, it needed a truss rod adjustment, bridge adjustment (which, even bottomed out the intonation isn't properly set), and work to the nut. The G string slot was filed far too deep, so the string just buzzed.BUT, all of this is fixable. After putting in some work, it's a pretty playable bass.As is (but with flatwound strings, of course), the bass is pretty solid. The finish looks pretty nice, though I think it appears more yellow in person than in the pictures. There's a couple of imperfections in the finish but really nothing too noticeable. The tuning machines seem to hold tune without issue; they're nicer quality than I was expecting. The only thing that's really sub-par would have to be the pickups, but this was honestly to be expected since the bass itself cost less than a nice set of pickups. The fingerboard does not have the big triangular inlays as shown in some of the pictures but does have dot inlays on the side. The fingerboard also needed some conditioner, but no big deal there.I got this bass because I wanted to see how I liked playing a fretless and playing a 5 string. It's worked great for that. If you're looking to do the same or if you want to buy a cheap bass to customize, I would recommend this for sure.

Not a terrible instrument for the price.
This bass is a decent instrument once properly set up. That said, it needs work right out of the box, which is to be expected with a bass in this price range. It comes with roundwound strings installed (these will damage the fingerboard) that need to be replaced with flatwound or tapewound, nuts, bolts and screws need tightening, truss rod needs adjustment, action and intonation need to be set. It needs shielding, as it picks up stuff like florescent lights. The finish is decent enough. It looks gorgeous from a couple of feet away. Upon close scrutiny, there are some flaws, such as a few dimples and wood filler is visible in a couple of spots. But it's in places that are purely cosmetic and in inconspicuous locations. I love the vintage sunburst finish.
