Good absorption. Non woven is the way to go. No stringy material to deal with. Good price. Good quality. Will keep buying.

As advertised. The gauzes are thin so may need multiples if covering a wound before applying the dressing. I use one to wash the wound and change gauze with the different solutions. As the package states the gauze is not sterile. The gauze is clean and are not each separately packaged inside the main package.

Great gauze

Let me tell you, these Medline 4x4 inch Gauze Sponges are the unsung heroes of every gory, chaotic, "how-did-this-even-happen" disaster you can imagine. I’ve used these more times than I care to admit, and let me tell you, they’ve seen things. Horrible things. We’re talking full-on horror movie scenes—blood gushing, wounds that make you question your life choices, and injuries that should probably involve a professional, but instead, I slapped some gauze on it and hoped for the best. First off, these bad boys are 100% cotton, so you know they’re soft enough to feel like they’re comforting your wound even as you’re questioning why you ever thought it was a good idea to use a chainsaw while multitasking. And the 8-ply woven fabric? That’s some serious blood-soaking power right there. I’ve had cuts where the blood flowed like I was auditioning for a slasher flick, and these gauze sponges soaked it all up like a vampire at an all-you-can-drink buffet. And let me tell you—non-sterile or not, these gauze sponges know how to survive the carnage. I had a wound that was definitely borderline “call an ambulance,” but I threw a stack of these gauze sponges on there, and it was like an old-school battlefield triage scene. The blood didn’t stand a chance. The gauze fought bravely, turning from white to red like a warrior in the final battle, but it held its ground. Plus, the 4x4 size is perfect for covering up just enough to keep your arm attached, while still leaving room for people to admire the absolute chaos that led to the injury in the first place. They’re like a bandage, but with an edge: “Yeah, I’m bleeding out, but look how absorbent this gauze is. I’m handling it.” Need to wrap a gnarly wound that looks like it’s straight out of a zombie apocalypse survival guide? These gauze sponges have you covered. Literally. Wrap ‘em tight, and suddenly, your limb looks professionally bandaged, even though we all know it’s one wrong move away from turning into a Quentin Tarantino scene. In conclusion, if you’re prone to accidents, or if you find yourself regularly living in some kind of DIY horror movie, Medline 4x4 Gauze Sponges are the last line of defense between you and a scene straight out of Saw. These sponges have one job—soak up the blood and keep you moving—and they do it brilliantly. P.S. If the gauze turns completely red in 2.5 seconds, it’s probably time to seek help—or just grab another sponge and keep the horror show going.

(I'd rate these 4 for what I used them for but only 3 for anything else) I had my teeth all pulled to prepare for dentures & prefer these to the gauze that was used to pack the site. PRO -- These are thinner so they didn't make me feel like my mouth was completely stuffed. -- I could use more if I needed thicker gauze for the area. -- There is a lot in the package. I won't have to buy gauze for a while! CON -- These might be too "airy" for some needs. They are VERY thin and, even doubled up/folded, they might not work. I think they would stick too easily to some wounds. -- Because they are so thin, they shred easily & can make a mess. -- The packaging was not great - just a flimsy paper covering. Once I opened the package, I had to put use a sealable baggie to keep them as sterile as possible. There were no negatives for me since I only needed these for my extractions. However, for most uses, these might be too "airy". You can see from the pics and video what I mean about how thin they are and how I doubled them up.

Good quality gauze for use of cleaning and protection of wounds.

Favorite part is they don’t shed like other brands and styles. Even if I shake a few of them I rarely see lint come out. Never zero… but much less than the 12 ply I’ve used from Medpride. These are very light. Breathable. I like to loft them for catching fluids. They wick away blood and water in real time, you can watch it travel through the fibers after contact with fluids. They don’t stick to fluid, even profuse fluid they come right off when doing a change.

I just got it today, and I really like it, it meets all my check marks 👍 thinking of getting another one 😄, I just realized that this product isn't what I thought I was reviewing 😳, but these worked out 😊
