The Perfect Ending for a Fantastic Series.
Holy alien babies! I enjoyed being back in Katy and Daemon's world, though this world has gotten a little crazy thanks to a crazy Luxen invasion. I mean crazy, as in there were a few things that I was definitely not excepting in the beginning of the book character wise. I'll admit, I was a little worried there for a bit when it came to Daemon and Dee. Thankfully this story is told in both Katy and Daemon's point of view, because if it wasn't, I may have wanted to jump through the book and throttle a few characters. Trust me, there's a reason for why characters act the way the do at the beginning. I won't say any more than that. You'll definitely know what I'm talking when you start reading the book.Katy is fabulous. Her character has definitely come full circle. I felt this was the book where she finally felt comfortable in her own skin, and embraced what she's truly capable of doing. She is one bada** character! She not only holds her, she can inflict some major damage on those who are attacking the people she cares about most. Katy deals with some crazy stuff in this book. Emotionally I wanted to curl up in a fetal position for her and start rocking. She's tough, and incredibly strong. Though she understandably breaks down, she finds that inner strength and holds herself together, and keeps going. I loved seeing her become this fierce fighter, and incredibly strong character. She proved she can definitely hold her own with the Luxen. I admit, I was totally cheering her on when she kicked some crazy alien butt in this book, as was Daemon.Daemon Black. I didn't think I could like him any more than I already did, but he proved me wrong. I loved his character in Opposition. Like Katy, Daemon comes full circle, and I admit, I think I fell in love with his character all over again. I loved seeing him with Katy, and getting to see his love for her through his point of view. I liked seeing how effected he is by Katy and all that she deals with. I'll admit, his comments about seeing her kick some Luxen butt had me laughing. He's such a guy. With his human tendencies, I kept forgetting he definitely not a human, though he's very much a guy. Armentrout writes his points of view perfectly. I loved what I got from Daemon in Opposition. There's so much more to him than his banter, and sarcastic comments. He is just as fierce at protecting those he loves as Katy is. I loved the way he protects her and just loves her. I also admired him for allowing Katy to fight her own fights, but he's there when she needs him to be. If Daemon Black didn't have you swooning before, he'll have you swooning now.Armentrout does such an amazing job with not only telling me, but showing me just how much Daemon and Katy love each other. I loved seeing how they grew closer together, and fall more love with each other, both together, and individually. Getting to read from both of their points of views was fabulous. Katy and Daemon love each other just fiercely as the other. Seeing their need, their want, and their hope took their relationship to a real, much deeper level. I loved it. Everything centers around the two of them. They both make some hard choices, and sacrifice a lot for the other. I love it when things seem impossible, how they found hope in one another. I know, it sounds cheesy, but I promise you it's not. Don't worry, their banter is still great, and holy hotness, there are few scenes between the two of them that are, well hot! Daemon and Katy's relationship is one of my favorites in YA books, and I loved how Armentrout brought it full circle in this book.Armentrout does a fabulous job at creating secondary characters I end up caring apart. My favorite of her secondary characters in this book is Archer. No wait, Hunter. No wait, Dawson. On second thought maybe it's Luc. Okay, I liked all of them. I enjoyed getting to know them, and love what each character brought to the story. I also like the way they gave dish it back to Daemon. I love the banter between these guys, although my favorite is the bantering between Katy and Daemon. No one in this series can top these two, and their mouths.Opposition is the perfect ending for a fantastic series. Jennifer L. Armentrout gives fans everything they've loved about this series, and then some, in Opposition. This book has everything I hoped it would, and more. The bantering, sarcasm, sizzling character chemistry, drama, action, heart breaking moments, moments that made me laugh out loud, and more that I've enjoyed through out the series are definitely apart of this book. What I loved about this book is how Armentrout gives fans a conclusion that is so perfectly fitting for fans of the series. She doesn't just loosely wrap everything up. Each of the characters receives an ending that is fitting for them, given all that goes down in Opposition. If you've not yet picked up this series, I highly recommend that you do!

the hardest thing about finding a new series that you love is reaching the last book and having to say ...
MY BLOG: shoshireads.weebly.comMY REVIEW: [...]Okay, the hardest thing about finding a new series that you love is reaching the last book and having to say goodbye. The last books of series are always the toughest to read. On one hand you want to speed through the book to find out what happens, on the other hand you want to read the book incredibly slow and savor the series before it ends. You get submersed in the world of the book and you don't want to leave. I've read series that I have loved but when it came down to the last book, it just disappointed me because my expectations were so high from reading the other books in that series. That really wasn't the case when it came to the Lux series. After reading the first book, Obsidian, I fell in love with the series. And after that, book after book in the Lux series, I loved. Opposition was the PERFECT ending to an absolutely phenomenal series! In my Origin review, I said that it was hard for me to distinguish between Katy's and Daemon's POVs. This was not the case in this book. I'm not sure why but it was so easy for me to tell whose mind I was in. I was happy about that because I love the Lux series so much and I don't want any negative things to say about the series. When Katy and Archer went to the store to get items for Beth, I just had this weird feeling that something bad would happen. When I was reading this section of the book, I was on the edge of my seat, waiting for something to happen. And when it finally did, I had to just keep reading and reading. I was so eager to find out what was going to happen, I read this book so quickly. At the beginning of the book, it was hard for me to tell if Daemon really was on the Luxen's side or not. REALLY hard to tell. When we found out that he and Dawson had been faking their emotions, I felt like a weight was lifted off of my shoulders. Soon after, I realized the reason they were able to separate from the invading Luxen was that they had someone that they loved so much, it was able to free them from being controlled. After that my heart broke in two. Dee wasn't faking.I hated Sadi from the moment we first met her. When we found out that she was an Origin and knew that Dawson and Daemon had been faking all along, I really hated her. I loved the scene when Katy attacked Sadi. You go girl!I was biting my nails when Dee came and Katy had to fight her. I truly didn't know what would happen and that really terrified me.I was shocked when Daemon and Katy learned that because of the Prometheus serum, one could die without killing the other. And I thought, why would Jennifer do that unless one of them dies? So I was basically a nervous wreck from that point on. When Daemon got injured and Kat was thinking about how much she loved him, I burst into tears. It was so upsetting! You really have to read the book to find out what I mean because it's hard to explain. When Archer, Dee, Daemon, Dawson, and Kat went back to Petersburg, I really didn't want Kat to go, in fear of what happened to her mom. When Kat finds out that her mom had been assimilated, my heart broke for her.At the end of the series, lots of characters died. Some were enemies and some were friends. But Daemon and Kat got their happy ending. So did Dawson and Beth, and Archer and Dee. Sadly, Luc didn't and we don't know exactly what happened to Nadia, but I am assuming she died.I may have gotten some tears on the book when Dawson and Beth name their baby Ash and in the extended parts on Jennifer's website, when Daemon and Kat name their baby Adam.It also shocked me that some Arum like Lore and Hunter weren't necessarily bad. Although lots of Arum still are. Lotho definitely freaked me out. I was intrigued with the idea of an Arum and a human. I read Obsession to learn more about Hunter and Serena. And wow. It really was a shocker. The cover of Opposition annoys me because it doesn't match with the other books. But we will be getting Opposition in a new cover that does actually match the rest of the series. We will also be getting Shadows in paperback. These will come out in November.

Ending the series on a high note
I was a complete sucker for this series and therefore a little nervous to read this one, especially after the ending of Origin. However it did *not* disappoint - it had heartache, betrayal and *a lot* of plot twists to keep you on your toes!I’m not going to talk about how wonderful Armentrout’s writing is because, if you’re on book 5 of this series, you already know it and love it as much as I do. It’s MASTERFUL. However, I will talk about how this book has much more action than its predecessors but without feeling forced or contrived. It was slotted in throughout the narrative which added gravity to the decisions characters made.I could go on for ages about how much I love Katy and Daemon’s development from the start of this series to the end, but this book manages to condense everything I love about their growth into it. We have snarky and arrogant Daemon but also protective and sensitive Daemon. We have introverted and nervous Kat and then we have total-bad-ass Kat who will make damn sure that people listen to her. I love them separately and I love them together and they had some classic one liners that had me laughing out loud. All in all, Opposition wrapped up everything I wanted it to and I think it was fitting for all the characters. I’m looking forward to reading the spin off series and Shadows/ Oblivion which I’m sure will make me love the characters even more than I already do.

Nicely wrapped up, but wish there was more!
It's always weird when you finish a series of books. When it's a standalone novel, it's easier to let go of a set of characters, but with a series - especially when they go past the typical three - you spend so much time with the characters, they become a fixture for a while. When I started the Lux series, I wasn't sold on it. I'm not a huge fan of YA novels at the best of times. Daemon amused me enough to keep me interested, though, so I slogged through the first and second books and hit the third... and that's when it captured me. Something clicked and the story became more than just a "yeah, it's not bad," to "holy shit, gimme more!"Opposition has its issues. There are a couple of things I think could have been done better, but overall, a fantastic book which ties up the series nicely.... and I've been informed today (and pre-ordered) that Luc is getting his own book in October this year (2018) so there's that!

Smashing
This is one of those series that kept me captive throughout the whole development. It pulled me right in and despite all the heartaches and bitter betrayals, it ends beautifully.Katy and Daemon have been put through the mill on numerous occasions, but their love for each other is breathtaking. All the characters bring something special to this wonderful tale, even the baddies.I have really enjoyed reading this series, even when it had me on the edge of my seat and holding my breath. The plot, the pace, the romance, and all the actions are nicely balanced. A smashing series.

Opposition by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Opposition was a victim of my laziness last year and I completely forgot to review it along with a load of books that I'm slowly getting around to re-reading. But I was in a bit of a slump and Brittany suggested re-reading the Lux series since she was thinking about doing it too, so that's exactly what I did and it was exactly what I needed.Opposition is the final book in the Lux series and picks up where Origin left off. A bunch of Luxen appeared on Earth and Daemon, Dawson and Dee disappeared off with them. These new Luxen are hostile and are hell bent on taking over the world and killing every human, hybrid and any other weird combination of the two.Opposition is the most action packed book of the series. Right from the get go the action starts. Katy is out buying supplies with Archer for Beth when the psycho Luxen descend on the store. Katy spots Daemon and then suddenly Dawson appears and cracks her over the head. Katy wakes up in a house full of hostile Luxen and has no idea what's going on. Dee is acting like she wants to kill her and Daemon is as cold as ice towards her. But Daemon is only pretending to help Katy and himself until there's an opening for him to escape with Dawson and Dee. But when the opportunity appears, Dee decides to stay with the hostile Luxen because she's in pain and doesn't want to feel.So Dawson, Daemon and Katy are rescued by the last person on Earth they'd ever trust - Nancy Husher. But working with the Government is the only way they're going to be able to stop the Luxen.Katy and Daemon are still my ultimate OTP. Those two would go to hell and back for each other. In fact, they have been. They're so completely and utterly in love and I just adore reading about them.Beth and Dawson are adorable as well and they're even more adorable due to something that I don't want to mention but it makes them even cuter.I adored seeing more of Luc and Archer. Luc is one of my favourite characters everyone. He know everyone and he has a lot of secrets. He's hilarious and such an intriguing character. Archer reminded me a bit of Daemon, but he's less intense. He's caring, protective and hilarious. There was a lot more fighting in this one due to the invading Luxen, but it made the book even more exciting. But it also made me slightly apprehensive because I wasn't sure whether Armentrout was going to kill any more of my beloved character. There was a lot on the line in Opposition and the gang had to team up with their most hated enemy to help deal with the Luxen because it was the only way they could get rid of them.Opposition was an emotional ending to such a fantastic series. I could honestly read about Daemon and Katy and the rest of the character forever. I just adored them and this world so much and I was extremely sad to say goodbye to them. But, on the bright side, there's a new book in the series coming out in Daemon's POV! I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for some new scenes and not just a rehash of the series in his POV. I need some of him and Katy after Opposition!

This book is epic! an amazing conclusion to a brilliant series!
Review originally posted on: http://polkadotbookblog.blogspot.co.uk/2014/08/opposition.htmlI have been a fan of the Lux series from the very beginning, it is one of my favourite book series of all time so while i'm a little sad to see the end I am so happy as to how it ended. Everything that needed to happen, happened and there were still so many things that I didn't see coming. I love how everything tied up and rounded together so you were never left thinking that this could of been better or it should of happened this way because you see the genius of why they ended that way, even if you didn't particularly like that it had to happen like that. All in all, opposition is a stunning conclusion to a brilliant series. It has everything you would ever need in a book, amazing romance, fantastic action and funny one liners throughout the entire story. It was brilliant and I am sad to see it end but really happy on how everything ended. I would recommend this series to every young adult fan because it mixes and brings together so many genres that you can't help but caught up with it and fall in love with it from the very beginning. So if your looking for a funny, fast and action packed read that features gorgeous aliens and thrilling romance then pick up this series and by the time you get to this book you will be head over heels in love with Daemon Black.
