While it may not have specifically MSG/eNumber 621, and possibly not even eNumbers 620-625, it does contain eNumber 627 - Disodium guanylate, sodium guanylate... which IS an "MSG BOOSTER". Therefore, it is likely that "some other ingredient (eg soy protein) was in a form upon which the boosters could act."Furthermore, eNumber 627 - Disodium guanylate, sodium guanylate is listed on the FedUp list of chemicals to AVOID because they cause reaction in MANY people.Check http://fedup.com.au/images/stories/129MSGlist.pdf as well as other info from http://fedup.com.au/ regarding food sensitivities.

That seems a bit over the top but it is a very useful seasoning.

Q: Can this be used with napa cabbage? I'm afraid it would just burn it up and destroy it.

This is a seasoning. Not sure how it would "burn up" Napa cabbage. I've used it with bok choy and green cabbage before, among other things.

Vegeta's some nice spice.

A friend in Denmark told me about Vegeta, so I gave it a try. I've used it to spice up everything from bland tomato soup to rice to baked fish. It doesn't quite go with everything but it has gone very well with things I've tested so far.
