Owlet Cam 2 - Smart Baby Monitor Camera - Stream Secure HD Video and Audio with Night Vision, 4X Zoom, Wide Angle View and Sound, Motion and Cry Notifications - Bedtime Blue

This is a nice camera with great features. I purchased this so that my husband and I could see our child while we are at work through Wi-Fi. It was very easy to set up you just download the app and follow the instructions on your phone. The camera will tell you the humidity and room temperature in your room and if it’s a comfortable environment for your child, it also has playback, audio, and background noise which you can turn off it the settings. The camera quality is very nice. It also has night vision and based on your Wi-Fi connection the first image quality is usually great. Through the app you can choose to have notifications tell you when your child is crying or like loud noises , however, I chose not to opt for that because if your child tends to cry a lot the notifications can get quite annoying. One downside that I found to this camera is that you have to manually rotate the camera whereas my other baby monitor camera be rotated from the monitor itself. It would be nice if you could rotate the camera from your phone that should be a feature they consider adding in the future. Also I usually will watch my phone and my other baby monitor screen while I’m in the house and I have noticed that there is a bit of a lag in the video playback with the Owlet camera compared to my other baby monitor camera. I use this camera in conjunction with the Owlet Dream sock. Overall I think this was a great purchase and I would recommend it to any new parent

I typically try to stick to just writing positive reviews for products I love - but this monitor system is SO bad, I feel compelled to warn people. We had a standard, nothing-fancy Motorola system with our first baby. The portable screen broke after a couple years so we tried something new with baby #2. We’d always heard this brand was top of the line. Within 3 months of my son being born, this system has failed us miserably. The camera itself is not a clear picture - especially at night when we use it most - and that’s when it’s actually WORKING! In the last week, we haven’t been able to see it at all. It just is a blank screen trying to connect and then gives us a ‘camera is offline’ message. The camera problem was so bad, we started just using it for the audio background on our phones. Now THAT isn’t working. We have excellent internet, so that’s not the issue. No other problems with electronics in the house (we have a series of other cameras, smart plugs, etc) which leads us to believe this system is the issue…and created a LOT of frustration for this new momma. It’s very possible we just got a lemon since others have no issues. But I cannot recommend this monitor system based on the problems we’ve had in just a few short weeks.

Love this!! Now, with that said I hated it the first week my baby was born because it’s harder than it looks to put on a tiny baby foot. Once I had a family member show me how to use it properly and my baby grew a little more, then it became the easiest thing to put on. I recommend putting a fitted sock over the foot monitor to help a little more. Also, it seemed like it didn’t like a sock and footed onesies because it would disrupt the signal. You might hate it right away if you are putting it on a newborn, but it does get easier to use as they grow and just takes some patience!

This is our second owlet purchase and we could not recommend these cameras more. I love that this one has a cry notification setting. It can also record, if you want it to, when motion, sound or crying is detected. Our older model doesn’t offer that and we really love that feature. Picture quality is usually great, depending on our internet but we live in the country so it can be a little spotty. That being said, the owlet app keeps up well and always functions and stays connected even if our internet is a little slower in some days.

Has a hard time connecting to WiFi and sometimes it doesn’t load and I have to refresh the entire app to bring it up. And the port on the back of the camera is flimsy so the cord falls out sometimes. Not really worth the money I spent on it. I bought a $30 to test the difference and the $30 one didn’t disappoint. I would say the only thing the owlet had over it is that I could look at my son while I was away at work

I love having this camera! I’m able to watch my daughter while typing this review right now. Yes the signal can get spotty at times but overall it’s reliable. I wouldn’t recommend this camera if you live somewhere with ZERO internet signal/connection, but everyone else should definitely try this one.

I’m not even sure how owlet cameras still sell. This thing is a piece of junk. It always disconnects and then never reconnects. We have spent hours reconnecting it every day and can never get it to stay connected. I’d go get a Nanit, it reconnects on its own when WiFi goes out or is unplugged without any hassle.

I love this camera. It has great quality, reads the temperature and humidity in the room, notifies me when there is movement or sound/ cry We take it everywhere. Only flaw is it doesn’t always connect with WiFi while traveling
