Great Product - Fits the same as original
Only NOTE is -- the holes are NOT threaded! I assume "they' figured that the original bolts which are "self-tapping" will be used. ONLY problem some may run into is that getting the OLD BOLTS out can be a challenge. I really had to work them back and forth just a little, while adding penetrating oil to get them lose enough to finally back out all the way. Only 1 bolt out of the 10 (changed both sides) broke -- Grrrrrr. I had regular bolts (3/8" x 1 1/4" x 16TPI) so I chose to tap all the holes (3/8" x 16TPI) to make it easier AND NOT risk one of the old bolts twisting off while having to "cut" new threads as they were installed. (To assure they'd be a tight fit, I didn't run the tap quite all the way through -- leaving a little taper -- so the bolts would be a bit tighter.) I used a split lock washer on the 1 regular bolt I used to replace the one original bolt that twisted off during disassembly. Otherwise, IF you're unsure of being able to get the original bolts out, probably best to order the new self-tapping bolts. I was very surprised in this day and age of so much metric usage, that the bolts were standard! Of course the Murray tractor I was working was put into service in 2003! ....so don't know if newer tractors still use standard bolts or have gone to metric. Just be sure you know what you have / what you will need to reassemble with the new Jackshafts. Again, IF you tap them, you can use whatever bolts you desire. Just be sure to include lock washers (so the bolts don't loosen over time) IF you do not use either the original or new self tapping bolts. Ironically, the casting is not stamped "CHINA" as the original parts were.... but then the new were NOT stamped "Made in the USA" either...... so no sure where they are made...???

BEWARE that the Splines on EACH end are DIFFERENT GROOVE SIZES !!
THIS has 2 different splines on each end - the lower spline is fine tooth and the upper spline where the pulleys go is a coarse wide groove spline. The 40 inch Murray deck we have requires Fine teeth on both the bottom with the blades and the top with the pulleys - so we had to return them since the pulleys would not fit on them. This bearing unit is Made Extremely well.!! IT takes a whole bunch of grease in the internal area. The bearings, casting and seals are all Beautiful looking. IT killed us that it wasn't the right part because it's made so well. ALL of the descriptions on Amazon by ALL the sellers of this bearing spindle do NOT have sufficient pictures and never tell you the thread size and the spline size and lengths - they only give part numbers which means Nothing when you are rebuilding a mower that has had all the deck and engine and drive parts rebuilt and swapped out with other models for the past decade. We need to go by dimensions and thread sizes and Lengths. The threads on these are 3/2 X16 that bolt it to the deck. When you buy little inexpensive circuit boards on Amazon the sellers have pictures of them from 8 different angles. On this item which is a mechanical unit that handles lots of horsepower it's ALL the more important to have as much information and pictures as possible....

Works great
So I bought these for my 50" deck Scotts mower. Here's the thing, these are el-cheapo knock offs. Understand that. Ok, going forward, when you get them, pull the shaft out--hammer time! REMOVE the seal on the INSIDE sides of BOTH bearings. Then you can effectively use the grease fitting. prefill the void!! I have a rural ranch property and I treat this mover like a tractor mounted brush hog. Seriously, I'm hard on stuff. I grease these every 2-3 cuttings (6-7 pumps) and they have worked flawlessly. If these ever fail me... Because they withstand what I do with them....I'll buy more.

This worked with my snapper.
I see people giving bad reviews for the holes not being threaded. Buy the bolts that you see that is often bought with this. They thread themselves. This was perfect and fixed my broken mower deck.
