It is incredibly sensitive and has a huge capacity. I am using it in the kitchen for precise measurements of food calories and nutrients. You can put an entire heavy cast iron skillet on the Bonvoisin, tare (zero) the scale with one button push, and then add your food and it will read out the amount of food to ±0.01 grams. When making a salad, I place the bowl on the scale, tare it, add lettuce and record the value, tare, add tomato, record, tare, add broccoli, etc. I later enter all values into a custom Excel spreadsheet and determine my exact calories, fat, carbs, protein, and other nutrients for the day. It was very revealing as I found most of my calories were coming from the Olive Oil dressing and the Red Wine I was drinking with the meal. I cut back on Olive Oil and reduced number of glasses of wine. This is a great, convenient scale with high capacity and high precision.
