We are a family of five, and purchased this bag to store all out camping gear and leave plenty of room inside our Honda Pilot. We were able to fit a six person tent, a 10x10 canopy, five folding chairs, all bedding, two hammocks, and 5 back packs, with plenty of space to spare. The real challenge is to play tetris arranging everything so the weight is evenly distributed and follows the form of the bag (the bag is heavy canvas type material and does not itself form the rectangle seen in the stock photos). Note that while there is plenty to imply it will keep your stuff dry, the included papers make a big deal to formally state it is not waterproof. Kinda disappointed that Vault disclaims one of the core implications in its marketing materials. The bag isn't complicated to use, but for first timers like me, the instructions were unclear and might as well not have been included. I called their call center, who promised me a call back which never came. All that said, I am happy with it and would buy again.

This bag will do the job. The included documentation says it's not waterproof but it is certainly water resistant. The bag will protect your stuff from road grime, wet or dry. The stitching is good and the anchor points are strong. It comes with six straps. I didn't feel the need to add others. The bag is big and is not ridged. There is Velcro to help seal the zipper flap. The material is thick and will stand up to its intended purpose. I did use a tarp to protect the bottom of the bag. My hitch shelf had exposed bolts. I capped them with acorn nuts and loved the shelf with a tarp.The bag came with six straps, there was a buckle at one end. The plain end attaches to the tie downs sewn into the top of the bag. There are also some metal loops that are for use with tying the bag down. I could not figure out how to use these.

Just set it up with the Hitch Mounted Cargo Carrier. Everything looks good. The quality of the bag reminds me of a 'body bag'. That's a good thing. It's very tough. The only concern I have is the Lashing Straps and the instructions of how to secure it to the Carrier. There are metal loops included. It would be nice to have an illustration along with the written instructions. I emailed the company for a response. Apparently it really doesn't matter how it's actually done, just figure out a method that works. FYI, this is being used on a 2017 Chevy Traverse. The tailgate hatch opens with no problems.

I bought this to pack a 10.5 ft inflatable dinghy, after searching for many alternatives. This bag is huge and will confortably swallow a considerable volume of stuff. The material is tough and thick plastic and the zippers look the part too.My only gripe is that it cries for a set of tough grab handles, as it only comes with tie straps to secure it to the tráiler hitch basket. As I am not using it as it was intended, take my review with a pinch of salt.Having said that, if you need a large, tough and waterproof mega trunk to store stuff, you can't do better than this 15 cu ft monster!

This was great! We almost didn’t buy it because it doesn’t rain much here but we’re so glad we did because it rained hard on our drive but our stuff was perfectly dry inside. We used this with the Vault carrier and were able to hold more than we expected. This sides aren’t ridged like I expected so it could bend as we needed to. We also bought the cargo net and our stuff was locked into place! We had a couple pieces of luggage and a large dog crate and they fit with no problem so we look forward to using it again.

When we got this item delivered we were excited but I was a bit surprised that the bag is just that, a bag. I was not aware that the bad has no shape, meaning it’s not very sturdy. It still holds well on the vehicle but you have to use some ingenuity to make sure it stays strapped down. Worth the money and overall glad we purchased this item.

I used this to hold a lot of stuff traveling from NJ to FL. It held a large dufflebag, a small dufflebag and a small suitcase.It is not completely waterproof; the items inside should be wrapped in plastic. However, we went through very heavy rains for a few hours down south and the stuff inside was only sightly wet.The tie downs that it comes with are ok, we also used bungees to secure it to the shelf. I am very happy with this cargo bag.

I bought this to go with my cargo hitch. We traveled 3200 miles from Lititz. PA. though Mexico to Guatemala where we live. Much of our travel was through rain and temperatures from 18º to 102º. The bag held up perfectly, no tears, no torn straps, and everything stayed perfectly dry. There was no fussing with keeping it tight on the carrier even though we drove on rough roads and bounced over many speed bumps. I could not be more happy with this product. Last week-end we used it on another 1000 mile trip with absolutely no problem. Highly recommended!!

Big capacity, but it isnt the dimensions specified. Also, the bag is not at all waterproof. Used it for the first time in the rain yesterday and everything inside was very wet after travelling for an hour in the rain. Was not impressed.

This product worked well for us on the VW bike rack on our California, it’s not a sturdy box, more of a robust bag. It was great fir us as it’s just used for carrying bedding, awning gear and chairs and when on a camp site the bag folds up well. It proved to be waterproof as well as we went through torrential rain, we attached it with some ratchet straps as the one that came with it looked a bit flimsy, that could be just me wanting to be extra secure?Overall it suited our needs very well

This was slightly too big for what we wanted but I felt too big was better than too small. That’s why I was surprised when on the second trip one of the straps ripped off and the zip ripped. Before this, on the first trip, the contents inside got wet. This will do as a storage bag for my camping equipment when not in use but as a hitch bag, it’s not great.One annoying feature is the lack of strap clips. It makes it very awkward to tie and secure the straps. I thought it would last more than 1 trip but then live and learn.

Much cheaper than Thule alternatives. This is essentially a heavy-duty water-resistant rectangular bag with sturdy zippers. It is not rigid, but you can add some rigidity with cardboard on the inside if you want it. Works very well with the Thule tow hitch luggage rack - place the bag on the rack, put items inside starting with the biggest/heaviest, zip it up and then strap the whole thing to the rack. It won’t have a nice body shape unless you’ve completely filled it, but the construction is very sturdy so if you’ve strapped it down tightly it’ll hold everything inside in place. I didn’t have any leaks but if you’re expecting to be driving in heavy rain for a sustained period consider putting non-waterproof items into plastic bags as given long enough water will find a way to get in through any zipper.

I did elect to return this item but then changed my mind as I needed to use something at short notice. I later realised that this product looks nothing like the picture which depicts a box shaped item that has solid sides, well it doesn't it is just a bag, the sides don't stay up on their own and I had to get an additional board for the bottom to ensure a solid base. To add insult to injury I then found it £20 less from another seller on Amazon. Not sure they will accept it back now I've used it.
