Sweet romance in a horrifying world
I have read reviews and seen tiktok recommendations too, so I knew the monster was super sweet, but I wasn't expecting the world to be that terrifying of a place. The world building was great, just enough and the rest was shown through action. Let me tell you this dystopia is like hell, no wonder is filled with demons ( and not the fun kind either). She was struck by tragedy at an young age and was marked as a harbinger of demons as a consequence. Her life following that event is bad. He is a sweet, kind but very lonely monster that can also be vicious and terrifying too.Their connection builds slowly but surely, and they find solace and a ton of spicy fun times with each other. The story is a bit too long for my liking, but is different than other monster stories out there. I couldn't stop myself from feeling sorry for Orpheus, but at least things work out.

Surprisingly Loved it
Really enjoyed this story, the universe was interesting, it had a good pace. The main characters were creative and relatable. I ended up not being able to put it down. Definitely worth a read if you like monster romances

New territory for me but me likey
First book to read from Opal Reyne. I first encountered this book was actually from one of my customers and anything with monster/paranormal creature on the cover, me interested.✅ paranormal romance✅ spicy🔥✅ kinda have magic✅ first impression of the cover: reminds me of the ancient magus’ brideWhen I knew Reia is going to be sacrificed as the offering for the Duskwalket, I am worried for her. What kind of torture is she going to get with the Duskwalker. But myohmyohmyy it was torturous 😏🤭. Orpheus is so protective of her and really want to be more of a man than monster to understand Reia better and he really wants Reia to stay with him. So he provide anything for her so she can be comfortable and so he can have a friend because he was lonely.

Different
Hmmm this is a very long book that is very different, it kept me reading. I had to know where the author was going with this. Sadly when I got to the end it felt like the plot stalled or maybe the bigger picture didn't quite start. If you look at it as just a book about the main characters getting to know each other, great job. However with all the crumbs trickled in throughout about a bigger plot, can't help but get bored with the couple doing nothing.Would I put myself through another long winded book just to find out what happens with the demons, no.

4 stars
I've read a few monster books but not anything like this story and honestly it was brilliant so I definitely recommend.Orpheus is definitely a monster but omg he is an absolute sweetheart, when he isn't trying to eat Reia lol. This is a story with some drama, but for me the best was the lol moments, and there were plenty, lots of pure sexyness, weird monster moments and just absolute heart wrenching moments but then also it repairs at the same time. This book kept popping up on a Facebook group and I thought oooh I'll give this a try and I'm so so glad I did. This is also this 1st book I've read by this author so I'm about to stalk her other books :)
