2 against 1 for the win!
I can't believe I'm about to say this but... This was my... This was...THIS WAS MY FIRST JADE WEST READ!π³π€―I know, friends, I knowβI'm behind on the times. π© But, now that I've been immersed by her talent, sucked so deep into the story I had no desire to do anything but read, I'm convinced I'll need to tear through her backlist 'cause lawddddd **fans self**Okay, but for real...SUGAR DADDIES...whew! π₯΅I don't even know where to start lol!Firstly this book is an MMF, so if you're not a fan of this coupling, this will not tickle your fancy. The men 100% interact (it was hot, you're missing out) and they both enjoy the FMCβtogether. Also, if you're looking for Daddy kink, you won't find that here. While some reviewers claimed the title was misleading, I disagree. A sugar daddy doesn't always involve Daddy kink, people. Not all men desire to be called Daddy. #JS π€·π»ββοΈ For me, the title read true to the story and was literal to the plot, while also metaphorical to a specific element.Secondly, if you're looking for a quick, uber smutty readβthis is not it. I'll be the first to admit, I had previously judged this book by the cover and thought it was all spice, no substance (plot.) Preface: there's nothing wrong with those types of books and sometimes, like all of us romance readers, I'm in the mood for nothing but the schmex. The majority of the time, however, I prefer plot with my spice. I want to dive into a story and have the added bonus of insanely hot seggsy times, ya know? Anyway, I definitely judged this book by the cover, and maaaan, I was pleasantly surprised when I opened it up on my Kindle and saw the reading time. Fist pumped the air and all, I swear.Thirdly, SD is set outside of the US. The characters reside in the UK, so there's verbiage/phrasing outside of our norm. I have Brit friends (thank you, Romancelandia) which gave me the upper hand as I was familiar with the terminology, but just a warning that it may trip you up if you don't.Now that I've got that out there, let's talk characters...Katie was the female lead and overall I enjoyed her character. I love how confident she was with her sexuality/sexual desires and knew what she wanted. I love how driven she was, intent on fulfilling her dreams, even when others thought it was stupid (relatable for me personally.) I loved the sass on her. I loved her how she handled the curveballs of life and gave off this chameleon-like vibe, blending in and adjusting as need be. Was she a bit petulant at times? Yes. But she's 22. I saw so many reviews complaining endlessly about her behavior/mannerisms, and though I fully believe everyone is entitled to opinion, I couldn't help but wonder how many of these readers forgot just how young and immature a 22 year-old can be! I mean, I sure as hell was *not* Mature Marcy at that age. I lashed out, cried a shiz ton, had attitude and lack of rationality coming out of my... Well, you know lol. Even as a mom (my oldest was 2 when I was 22) I still wasn't as mature and wise as I am now in my 30s. So for me, personally, her temperament and the way she acted/reacted to certain scenarios wasn't annoying to the point of being put off. She's a very young woman still learning how to stand on her own two feet as an adult. Basically, she was still coming into herself, and I thought Miss West did a wonderful job developing her character as the story progressed.Onto the men: Carl and Rick. Carl was your grumpy, broody suit. A hulk of a man, all steely and hard-lined on the outside with a gushy center. I adored him from the jump, honestly, but then again I love me a broody suit you have to break down over time. Rick, on the hand, was a ball of sunshine, a total goof. Well-built, tattooed, piercedβyes, even there. Can we say YUM? They were quite the pair and I was intrigued by their dynamic. Opposites really do attract in this case. I loved how different they were and I love that Miss West truly made them each their own. They never bled together where one suddenly seemed like the other and always remained true to character. I loved how they loved one another, too, and I thoroughly enjoyed watching them fall in love with Katie. I loved their backstory, how they'd had failed partnerships with other women because of one specific element, and I loved the conditions they had in place to protect themselves against adding a third to their duo. I also loved the fact there were age gaps between them and Katie without the need for her to call them Daddy. Don't get me wrong, I adore Daddy kink reads, but sometimes that wordβDaddyβis sooo overused, it makes me wanna yank out every single hair in my head, one by one. That said, my biggest bone to pick with this book and the reason why I gave it 4 stars is because we don't get Rick's POV, at all. The story is told only through Katie and Carl's and, personally, I thought it was not only unfair to only have two sides of the story, but also unbalanced. I think this is where my author brain kicked in and I thought about how I would've done this. I enjoy multiple POVs and I adore writing them. They break up the monotony of only one headspace. Do I get sometimes there is such a thing as too many POVs and it can be overwhelming? Yes. But I think, if done properly, getting that glimpse into Rick's head would've been the cherry on top. This book is 100% an MMF, as previously aforementioned, but sometimes for fleeting moments here and there, I kept forgetting as much given the only dual POV.And now for the smut... Lawdhammercy the schmex. ππ€π» **chef's kiss** It was detailed and explicit without being super drawn out, and it was all over the plot. I loved that it didn't interfere with the story, either. Miss West stuck these scenes in all the right places and I fanned myself every single time. Admittedly, I'm also not usually a fan of MM (I'm more of an FF girl - gasp, I know) but daaaamn, Carl and Rick were just plain fire together. The sword fighting π was honestly yummy as hell. Now I will say, the whole gaping thing was not my cuppa. The stretching didn't bother meβit's part of taking two obviouslyβbut the gaping was not it for me. I'm not yucking anyone's yum, if that's what you like, get on with your bad self, ma'am, but for me personally, I found myself cringing just slightly whenever I saw it come up. Just not my thing.Overall, I loved this book. It was engaging, had me completely hooked to the point I just wanted to just readβnot work lolβand find out what was to happen next. There was a nice sprinkling of family drama and big secrets thrown in mix, which helped progress the story, along with real life disappointments and/or circumstances the characters had to work through. None of it was excessive or dragged out, and I rather enjoyed how some things were resolved quicker than others. I did not see the one specific event leading up to ending coming...like at all. When it happened, I was in literal tears. If you're on the hunt for an MMF with plot AND smut, this is it. Go grab it and thank me later. πOverall: βοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈSpice: πΆπΆπΆπΆDrama: π₯π₯Dark/possibly triggering content: None

I read Sugar Daddies in May 2021 after I saw a bunch of people talk about it on Tiktok. I read the description and was intrigued by the storyline. This book was not what I expected in the best way. I was honestly expecting something that was mostly spice and not too much plot/character development. I love those kind of books, so I was totally ready for that. I was not ready for what this book actually is and how much it blew me away. Jade's ability to write immersive, deep, and emotional stories is definitely her superpower. She's so good at it.I know we're not supposed to have favorites since they all get to be together, but I completely favor Carl over Rick. I love Rick, but Carl is just wonderful. He was a bit apprehensive at first because of how past relationships have gone, so the allure of him was intriguing. He's a bit intense, serious, and intimidating, yet there is this mysterious side to him. Rick is the opposite of that. He is carefree, an open book, and full of light. Once Carl softened and let Katie in, I was a total goner. Carl has so many layers to him that pull you in. He's smart, loyal, cares about the people in his life, full of love, and so incredibly hot. I loved how much he loved Katie and wanted her to be her best self. He supported her through her family troubles, helped her with her internship, and helped her see that she might be wrong about some grudges she was holding. I was over the moon in love with him when he told Katie's dad how much her horse meant to her. It showed how well he knew Katie and the love he has for her.I enjoyed Katie as well. She had a lot going on with her family dynamics, her love for Samson, Carl & Rick, and wanting to live out her dreams. Katie has a level of maturity and depth to her that I enjoyed. She had her petty moments, but I understood where she was coming from most of the time. I liked getting to see her growth around her family dynamics. I felt for her so much towards the end with what happened, but I was happy to see that it all worked out and her dreams came true. Even dreams she didn't know she had.The spice in this book is soooooo good. Y'all, it's so hot, smutty, and definitely has some taboo elements. The mouths on these men had me in a tizzy and the things they did with Katie were HOT. I've said this before, but Jade writes some of the best spice I've ever read and this book is no exception. I loved the scenes with all of them together the most, but I like that she gave us scenes with the different pairings because it showcased what a polyamorous relationship looks like. There's a kitchen scene with a mirror that is so hot and an office scene πI will say that I honestly didn't see the twist coming. Maybe I should've, but I didn't, which made it hit that much more for me. It's funny because the twist is something I don't want for myself personally, but also something I want for couples in romance books all the time. In interconnected standalones, I always word search for the previous couple. So I was personally on team "DO IT", but I get why there was apprehension given the different dynamics at play (trying not to spoil it). I appreciated that Rick and Carl gave Katie space, didn't pressure her, and ultimately let her decide. I cried when she told them what she wanted to do because it was a beautiful moment. Also, it was super hot. If you know, you know!I couldn't recommend this book enough! I loved everything about this trio and miss them all the time.

Unexpected delight
It is rare that a story surprises me, and this one is not what I expected. I expected hot and dirty with not a huge plot.Itβs hot and dirty, I was right on that. But the story, well that is where this book is so much more. This is a story about relationships, and not just the romantic ones. While it is a mΓ©nage, the story is only told through the voice of the FMC and one of the MMCβs. You see the growth that the FMC goes through and how the MMC helps guide her into seeing things through a different lens. Definitely worth the read!

Just wow!!!
I'm only halve way through the book and I've had to stop reading and read some out loud to my husband. There is a comical aspect to the book but a very spiciness to it that made me feel naughty just reading it like I was peering into someone else's life uninvited. I can't put it down even when I'm so tired that my eyes roll back. There are some things in the book I've had to look up because I wasn't sure what they meant as they are not American terms, but I think that helps give an odd sophisticated feeling to the book. Honestly it's a 10 out of 10 in my opinion!

Holy mackerel. What an emotional ride
I started reading from a BookToc review for some new steamy trading material. Warning!I. Am. Not. Even. Done. With. The. Book. I am crying. I am literally crying right now because of how much depth and emotion Jade West has put into her characters. Holy mackerel, this is a Lifetime movie plot because not only is the writing intelligent, but it's emotionally mature. Carl and Rick's dynamic is so spicy and so loving...I had to stop reading and crying to just say, "Read this story." I came for the smut and stayed for the love.

Make sure you have a fan ready
Hot Damn! This book will have you feeling like youβre in the middle of a summer heatwave. The scenes in this book had me copying and pasting and sending to my best friend just so she could be as worked up as me. Because isnβt that what best friends are for? The plot to this book 3/5. Not bad. Could be better. But enough to go alongside the sexy scenes. The spice 4/5. Lots of M/M, M/F, M/M/F. With a bit of other stuff. Read the triggers before you go into this book because it might not be for you. Lucky for me; nothing fazes me. And I just keep on turning the pages no matter what I read. This one had been on my TBR for a while and Iβm glad I finally crossed it off. Apologies to the author for taking so long. Really good book. First one of yours I have read.

Great character depth
I really enjoyed this book. It had the usual Jade West vibes, but the character depth was far deeper than usual which took me by surprise. It made me love it more.Katie was a great character. I loved how she was very independent and strong-willed. Carl and Rick were also brilliant characters. Each one of them had so much depth and development.I loved how they met and it was great to watch their feelings grow towards each other. Rick and Carl were already in a stable relationship but they wanted more. The scenes between them were brilliant and hot. MM scenes usually arenβt my thing, but they worked well here. I loved the connection between them and Katie slipped right in like she belonged. Everyone loved everyone. The plot with her family was a good addition, especially with Carl and Rick. It was nice to see everything work out in the end, even after what happened. It was definitely a happy ending.Overall, I would definitely recommend this book. The characters were brilliant and I enjoyed the story.Jessreviews.co.uk

MMF Romantic Polyamory
Given the cover I was expecting the spice to outweigh the plot however I was so pleasantly surprised. Yes it is spicy, and the spice is good, but it's also got plot and a lot of heart. We have a female main character who responds to an add on a sugar daddies website posted by Rick and Carl. She wants to earn some money to fulfil her dream of setting up a small riding school. What starts out as an arrangement soon evolves into something much more romantic as Rick & Carl are not looking for a short term arrangement. They want the whole nine yards, a loving poly relationship and have been searching for their Mrs Right for a long time.I loved the journey this book took me on and how the characters came out of themselves and grew together. It's an MMF/MM poly triangle with high spice and high romance. Enjoy

Good book. My first Made West and it won't be my last
I really enjoyed this book. It has some drama, age gap and polygamous thing going on with A TON OF SEX. The book was well written and I liked how their relationship developed, I also love that the men in her had a strong and loving relationship before Katie came along. It was a great love story but, apart from the polyamours and age gap it is just a normal romance novel with spicy scenes (a lot of them). The book cover made me believe there would be some sort of bdsm involved but there wasn't really any. Despite that this book is steamy hot.

easy 5 star
Donβt know why I waited so long to read this book, it was everything and more that people had raved about.I can see how the excessive dirty or crude language could be too much for some people but not me.I loved all the characters, especially Carl, and the chemistry between the three was electric.I was glad that for the amount of smut and s*x in this book there was equally as much depth and character development.I will definitely be reading more of jade wests work.
